The Undertaker's Children - rosepetalfall
Bucky’s dad always says what they do is important.

“We give people the dignity they deserved in life,” he says, seriously.

Uncle Danny laughs at that. “Jimmy-kid,” he says, “your old man has got some real trumped up notions of what it is we do. Death ain’t beautiful. We just help create the illusion that it can be.”
holy frick this is amazing
(focuses on the whole of the Barnes family, not just on Bucky with the family as background)

Darkness, Flooded in Light - galaxysoup
“When much is taken, something is returned.” - Terry Pratchett, Nation

Loki falls. Injured and unable to access his magic, he must struggle to restore himself physically and mentally before the Bifrost is repaired and Asgard comes to find him. That would be difficult enough, but one of Asgard’s deepest secrets has followed him...
It fascinates me, sometimes, the hugely vast array of ways that Loki is interpreted by fandom. This Loki is ultimately a good person who went through some deeply traumatic stuff and has trouble believing good about himself. (And lest you take my calm tone to mean anything here, nope, reading this fic left me a mess of incoherent feels. jsyk.)(and my feels were over multiple things: Loki, but also just how the townspeople are just such good and lovely people, in spite of -- or perhaps because of -- the demons in their own closets)
