I’ve kind of been arguing for Apple to go hard on owning its podcast platform for a really long time. The thing is, things have changed and it doesn’t matter what anyone says a podcast is. Market is maturing, and Apple should have done more *years* ago to hedge the inevitable.

Apple funding original podcasts makes sense and my hottest take is they should have done it 10 years ago, if we’re talking from a raw business perspective.

The monetary dynamics of podcasting are going to get more complicated. There’s no getting around it.

Well the actual issue is, people seem to kind of get it. But they want other options at the lower end of the Pro market. That’s reasonable. But it’s pretty silly to hate on this just because those things don’t exist yet. Apple just pushed the reset button on their pro strategy. https://t.co/x0TAHYYfzd

iPad isn’t a harbinger of the Post-PC era, it is merely a part of it. The phone became the primary computer for most people, and iPad is a lot like the phone: but bigger.

Hey angry people: in order for Apple to have these new iPads support Apple Pencil 2 *today* would have added:

• Considerably higher cost
