An iOS erase and restore preserves *most* settings, but there are still some annoying things it weirdly doesn't preserve, including:

• 24-hour time setting
• loading remote images in Mail resets to on (!!!)
• number of preview lines in Mail
• e-mail signatures

I am so over Bluetooth. Kill the protocol. It is worthless.

Currently, my PowerBeats Pro connect and both play the "connected" sound, but Mac audio only plays in the left one. This is a constant source of frustration.

Connecting to iOS is generally more reliable.

Weird macOS/iOS calendar syncing bug I found:

If you create a calendar event, and in the location field, if you type a person from your contacts and select their address, the calendar event will NOT sync across devices.

There are so many examples of terrible software design because metrics were the sole measurement of success.

Here’s one: some PMs at OpenTable on portions of the web site required a week of A/B tests for bug fixes. If user engagement dropped, a bug fix would not be released.

PSA: if you have a Mac stuck on High Sierra or earlier, but iOS devices on iOS 12, do NOT activate iCloud for Voice Memos. This configuration seems to be incompatible.

iTunes and iCloud will constantly duplicate your voice memos and take up space on your devices and iCloud.
