Some of that is age too. All the ObjC people you know from the old days are long time veterans. I’m “late” to it and I’ve worked with it for over 20 years. I think it skews that perception a bit. I don’t think it’s _wrong_ but I think why it is so isn’t due to language per se.

Good example. I think that’s a leap frogging issue. MacOS had a compositing window server first. Then Vista improved upon it. Now they’re on similar footing. I’m not knocking MS really. Just noting the ebb and flow and how ambitious projects go sometimes.
