Well, it's February 2020 and pace of queries I get from Mac professionals about

a) staying off Catalina, or
b) reverting to Mojave from Catalina

is only increasing. Two today so far, and it's just past 9AM.

Oh, I forgot: the devices have to be on the same WiFi network (more accurately, they seem to have to be in a single address pool serviced by the same WiFi router). So if you don't have WiFi — even though there is no actual reason you need it! — you cannot use Continuity Camera.

So, literally, if you physically plug an iOS 12+ device into a Mac running Mojave or better, you can't use Continuity Camera unless:
• You have Internet access
• You turn on all the radios
• You use iCloud
• You comply with Apple's 2FA regime

That's some quality work.

But still. Tight ship they run there.

Thought I might have solved @Dropbox access issues by using @Panic's Transmit to access the service.

The good news: I can log in and access necessary Dropbox items.

The bad news: Downloads quickly creep down to less than 10K/s and eventually fail.

Can't win.

I appreciate Apple adding privacy protections to Safari. However, since Safari 13 for macOS cannot run legacy extensions that worked—which cannot generally be replaced with the new, more-limited extension apps that don't—Safari is now off my list of "usable browsers."

For many years macOS has done badly with enabling users to use their own photos in screensavers:

System Prefs: Use any folder in your Photos Library!
Me: OK, use "Screensaver."
(Later)
Me: Those aren't my photos.
System Prefs: Wut? There was *never* a Photos option.
