Going on 25 years, this conversation is still awkward.

Them: So what do you do?
Me: I'm a writer.
Them: What do you write? Like…books?
Me: No, I write about technology. Mostly Apple stuff.
Them: *incredulous look* And you make a living this way?
Me: …well…

I'm quite frankly vexed by the lack of direct integration, for a service that purports to give its users more effective control over management of their debt.

Apple Card CSV and OFX export support is helpful, but I'd prefer to see Apple develop more direct integration with financial software apps.https://t.co/AQ8dYNvEhl

I am simultaneously impressed by your ingenuity and disgusted by this abject hardware fail.

Schiller says they're "continuing both keyboard designs" by virtue of the fact that they now have both designs in production. But if the new 16-inch design works out, does anyone really think they're going to continue using the butterfly mechanism any longer than they have to?

I'm on Facebook because it lets me talk with a group of people I have no other way of meaningfully connecting to: friends, family, neighbors. The problem is that I can't figure out how to meaningfully affect change in Facebook's business, so I use it less. https://t.co/Do13F2oswG

This is gonna be great. Also, @feralgames deserves kudos for continuing to refit their back catalog with 64-bit support – and Metal graphics API support – where it makes sense. Demonstrates a strong commitment to do what's right for their customers. https://t.co/J6NwMWaLgI

Important macOS Catalina upgrade tip: Remember that checking your Mac hard drive for 32-bit apps only reveals the apps that won't work which you have *installed*. It won't show you anything about the state of apps you have in the cloud, via app stores like the MAS, Steam, etc.

I've been using a 2012 13-inch MacBook Pro I salvaged from a recycling pile as my 2015 15-inch Retina is increasingly fragile and finicky, and its battery is failing. It's fine for most of my daily work. My net investment was well under $200. Anyone interested if I blog about it?

I'm unpacking this in real-time today so I apologize for the thread. But near as I can tell, Apple doesn't give any way at all of excluding Siri recording samples from the data you share with Apple.

I admire the new Mac Pro. I would love to buy something similar but less extreme. Let's call it a midrange upgradeable Mac. Apple hasn't had one in many years. I don't know why. So I settle for a laptop. I wish I didn't have to feel like I was settling, though.

If you don’t see the point of the refreshed iPod touch, it’s not for you. But don’t underestimate millions of folks who want/need iOS without a phone, especially families.

Kudos to any App Store/Mac App Store developer who's resisted IAP and sets a fair price to their product instead. We should support this.
