Much time passed. I built several design systems in Sketch.

I stopped *being* a Visual Designer, or a UI Designer. I now do Design Systems. My career grew, and I expanded my worldview.

But I refuse to see Design Systems as not being a visual design project.

This is where @figmadesign came in.

It did the same as @AdobeXD—it ripped off Sketch's UI paradigm. I tried it at the time, and it felt like a second-rate copy. Nothing worked. The web-tech UI felt unresponsive and tons of weird bugs. In a way, it felt like Sketch 2.0 (2012)

But in the end none of that mattered. Sketch made my workflow so much faster that the qualities I couldn't achieve in Photoshop went by the wayside. I now had the ability to hold the Option key and see the distances between elements. This alone, led me to learn about grids.
