A modal dialog isn’t dependent on the SDK you’re using. That’s just bad architecture and UIKit can’t help with that, so the dig on AppKit is pointless.

Random thing I learned this past week at WWDC: Loading WASM requires a JIT, so it won’t work in your app if you’re using it directly with JavaScriptCore’s classes. It’ll only work with the out of process web view thingie which I’m forgetting the name of right now.

I think the thing that’ll finally push me from SVN to Git for my Acorn repo is that SVN can’t handle custom icons on .xcodeproj files, and Git can.

(Before you shame me for using svn- I’m the only dev and up till now there’s been no reason to switch).

And I got to see the awesome stuff dithering can do recently, as Acorn 6.3 uses pngquant (by the amazing @kornelski) in web export now. Reducing bit depth + dither == amazingly small images. It’s nuts.

I forgot about it, worked on some other stuff, and later noticed it was compiling anyway.

It’s nice having two apps that dovetail each other. And the cross pollination is great as well. Acorn has Metal support because I started it in Retrobatch first. Retrobatch has various filters and wide gamut support, because of all the work I’d previously done in Acorn.
