A GitHub user reported a bug that only happens on Windows. I tracked it down to the fact that Git handles symlinks very strangely on that platform. IMO, if the behavior has to be different on Windows vs POSIX, maybe Git should just disallow symlinks.https://t.co/M3gvUUGzQ3

I basically hate most of the "smart" features in text editors. Automatic indentation, auto parenthesis insertion, etc. I find the silly heuristics more of an impairment than anything, because they guess incorrectly too often. I wish that stuff was disabled by default.
