Interesting use of a linear piston motion of a wave power buoy to drive a mechanically driven high pressure seawater pump for a reverse osmosis water desalination rig. RO requires high pressure, which typically requires a lot of electric power for a electric pump, but by using gradual pressure building using a wave driven seawater pump, you can achieve equivalent pressures. Potentially convenient for small island resorts that have very little electrical power. But the long water pipe is a bit of a problem. If it were me, I would use the wave buoy to send pressurized seawaater directly via pipe to a beach building with the RO rig and a pressure accumulator tank, since that keeps the more finicky parts out of the water.

Using a wave buoy based pump to compress air for a UWCAES setup. Problem is the heat loss (since it would be hard to recover), means you lose a lot of efficiency in the CAES system. I suppose they eat the loss, since the primary power source is renewable wave energy, rather than a grid input.

SPRAY TURBINES TO INCREASE RAIN BY ENHANCED EVAPORATION FROM THE SEA
Turns out ocean surface layer humidity made this not work as a rain maker, but the interesting takeaway is the inductively charged electrospray method for generating fine water droplets. "The device consists of an anodized titanium spring half-embedded lengthwise in a rubber block, with the fluid passing through the spring so that the gaps between turns of the spring form spray nozzles. The diameter of these nozzles can be collectively adjusted by stretching the spring and its rubber matrix . Insulated conductors at high voltage run alongside the spring, and the droplets are thus charged by induction as they pass by the wires, resulting in a finer spray and better dispersion as well as making the droplets attract neutrally charged particles such as particulate pollution. The droplet size is also controlled by a ~1MHz ultrasonic input." This can be used for things like trying to capture airborne particulates in smoggy areas. By the "Salter's Duck" wave power generator dude too.

Seems to use somewhat low pressure steam being condensed at high flow rates to create a forced induction setup, so a kind of jet pump? In theory, a high speed flash boiler could use sea water to source the steam for the setup since at high enough speeds the boiler shouldn't cake up. I wonder if this could be chained with a marine ramjet downstream?

An underwater ramjet, but really kind of a jet pump/ejector ramjet? Substituting expansion of overcompressed air or a compressed liquid refrigerant (so pressure drop expansion or liquid to gas boiling expansion) injection for a conventional combustion chamber in a ramjet. If one gets enough momentum from the injection to to do a standing start, then it gets pretty simple for a ramjet. One of the patents from this seems to show a pod version and a long blade version, that uses 2D ramjets embedded in the blade. Ultimate, you need some sort of high pressure gas source, either compressed gas, liquid boiling into a gas, or a gas generator. I wonder if this can be mixed with a supercavitation drag reduction system like a skival torpedo, supercavitating the ramjet pod exterior from the same gas generator flow?

The Magic Box, AKA heavily integrated thermal compnents for homes such that heat/cold can be used/reused effectively, from HVAC to hot water heaters and boilers for in floor heating. Most of the focus here is heat recovery ventilators, which recover heat energy from hot exhaust air to preheat/heat the evaporator coil of a heat pump. Too bad hardly anyone is selling them.

Nice part of this is that it basically is a submerged buoy actuated seawater pump, sending high pressure seawater ashore to a turbine station on land, keeping the electrical bits dry. Water pressure can be used directly for desalination as well.

AMW - One Stroke for mankind
This is a pretty strange engine design. The problem point will probably be sealing between the blade "piston", the crankshaft disc slots holding the blade, and the duct walls. Which might be mitigated by keeping the ducts at most a half cylinder in depth where the blade dips out most from the crankshaft disc.

Hurricane suppression system - Salter Sink
There is a shot of a two stroke system, where the wave action is both pumping warm surface water down and deep cold seawater up. The nutrient rich deep water replicates natural ocean upwelling currents/gradients, which greatly promote surface marine life. Naturally it also cools a slightly subsurface layer, so there are thermodynamic costs since it would sap heat out of the local surface water you are trying to force down.

Now here's a potentially smart idea, a hybrid wind turbine tower/seawater water tower with the object of reusing the wind turbine tower's volume and height as a pumped hydro storage reservoir (much like a municipal water tank tower). The kicker is instead of electric pumps/turbines filling the tank, use wave buoy pumps to use wave power for primary tank filling. Though, to be honest, if one were committing to doing a pumped hydro intermediary energy storage system for load leveling, there may be merit in having an auxilliary electric pump driven by the wind turbine, or skipping that step and figuring out a way to direct drive a pump mechanically from the wind turbine (hydraulic remote transmission assembly, or possibly a driveshaft, or a driveshaft going to a combiner transmission connected to the water turbine generator), so you have only one electric generator, near sea level. Note this scheme only works for monopiles and gravity bases, not offshore floaters.

A rather smartly designed compact heat exchanger for a lake loop cooler, bypassing the setup needs for a traditional lake loop cooling system and the vast mat of cooling pipes. I would worry about eventual biofouling, but perhaps the convection rate might be enough to deal with that.
