Interesting mixed material which re-emits heat at atmospheric IR transparency windows, effectively becoming a passive cooler. So an external radiator on earth covered with this paint can get pretty cool.

Interesting argument to throw sodium hydroxide derived from sea salt back into the sea to make it more basic, to counteract ocean acidification while sucking in more atmospheric CO2. Deal with the hydrochloric acid byproduct by mixing it with rocks, and dump that into the sea as well. Might in theory be cheaper than trying to do air carbon capture.

Stanford researchers use river water and salty ocean water to generate electricity
This is not an osmotic pressure power generator, rather a battery with flushable electrolytes that determine if it is in a charge or discharge phase. The added trick is using nanorods to increase the electrode area. Salinity is key here, meaning it doesn't have to be really clean freshwater, but the battery prefers brine over saltwater or brackish water. Hrm, I wonder if you could do this as secondary power generation for water desalination plants located on rivers next to oceans or salt lakes, using freshwater sources and desalination output brine?

Interesting result, but they failed to do the simple check of seeing if simply bubbling CO2 gas through the algae grow medium fluid at the same critical timing would result in the same increase in performance. Specifically, is direct stimulation/fertilization of algae with carbon dioxide sufficient, or is the chemical pathway being used here specific to free swimming carbonate in solution.

Engineers creating carbon-negative Mars rocket
Basically a hybrid solid rocket, using aluminum powder grain fuel and CO2 (gas? solid?) for fuels, with the CO2 being collected locally on the martian surface. Though considering all the ISRU work done so far, I would have thought producing oxygen for the oxidizer would have been more attractive from an overall integrated system/mass/power budget perspective...
