Secure Contexts
Hrm, so accessing localhost via HTTP ought to be treated as secure, and thus no mixed content warnings, but apparently there are some bad DNS resolvers, so it ends up the browser might still not trust it.

WorldBrain/Memex: Browser Extension to full-text search your browsing history & bookmarks.
A browser plugin/SaaS knowledge engine service called Memex, that indexes the contents of pages you visit. So you can not only search in the browser natively from URL history, but full text search from the contents of those URL's as well. Seems to use webRTC for sync between your instances?

HyperSpace - Your Content. New Audiences. Real Income.
Trying to pay content creators via a semi-closed social network with a cryptocurrency based payment system. Of note, all users are allotted a set number of tokens daily for free, which they can use to "pay" for content. Cashing out seems a little fishy...

Introducing Subscribe with Google
Google is trying to tame the subscription content market by having a single payment platform. Sadly not a per-article micro-payment/micro-donation platform.

xuset/planktos: Serving websites over bittorrent
Now, a pluginless way to leach bandwidth from users as a P2P CDN for static content right from the browser. Mostly by turning the CDN into a bittorrent hydra so content can't be easily killed if it's popular...

IPFS is the Distributed Web
Interesting distributed content addressable document store, built using something like DHT, so you are basically calling out for hashes like a magnet link. As an alternative to Freenet/Zeronet and friends.

voyurl - take a better look
This might be interesting, given that it has access to your full browsing history, to give hyper-focused content recommendation. But how is their browser plugin any better than say, Google and their Toolbar while you are logged in? Plus there is the problem that you are effectively installing spyware to spy on yourself, and the implications of putting such a third party controllable mechanism in place.

Vibe apparently is a highly localized twitter analogue that allows you define range parameters to "tweets" such as the short range "whisper" of 150m, up to global levels, and retweeting out to twitter itself. Used by those Wall Street protestors to perform flash mob like tactics, to react to police kettling moves in near realtime. Apparently the Vibe system also allows time limitations to "tweets" to force a level of anonymity (founder claims the app only collects location data to determine locality of messages). Whether the system architecture actually forces anonymity properly is up for debate (unique app/handset GUID's, IMEI, carrier markers on data, IP address information, SSL transport level encryption, etc.)

Performance & Security for Any Website | CloudFlare | Home
Was an inline web security proxy/load balancer startup that accidentally turned into CDN (due to tremendous optimization and and anycast edge caching techniques) and discovered some tricks to fiddle with client content to hide it from spambot trawling (like inline replacement of email addresses with a short javascript string, or adding third party services such as Google Analytics to content without modifying the origin content, or even inline feeding of third party widgets via keepalive session extension). They handle double digit amounts of world web traffic apparently.
