Similar to gastric bypass surgery remove a segment of GI tract, or similar tubular net like structures inserted after the stomach, they effectively block nutrient absorption. So, the idea here is, make a pill that can temporarily coat the GI tract to block nutrient uptake. No need for heavy surgery and no risk of a mesh tube getting dislodged, but you need to take the pill regularly.

Interesting antifouling setup using variable low power current electrolysis of seawater via conductive hull paint to create changing local pH values, which annoys biofouling marine organisms enough to keep them from attaching themselves. Really useful for fiberglass yachts potentially, which frequently feature solar panels, though how that will change the corrosion aspects of other metal parts like propellers will be an issue.

Apparently this is the real deal, a nanoparticle/nanocapacitor suspension paint. A spray on paint kit to create either a conformal antenna or to enhance an existing antenna. They painted a tree and were able to send VHF signals 14 miles. Boosting existing antennas is anywhere from 10% to 40% (40% was 20dBm for an iPhone 3 test). The videos also talk about potential uses in other EMF applications, such as (?AC) electric motor windings.

Basically, you treat a surface with a light acid wash to clean pores and microfeatures on a surface and positively charge them, then put the tripleO paint on, where the nanoparticle emulsion is negatively charged, causing the nanoparticle to seek and bond to the microfeatures, effectively filling them and making the overall surface smoother, providing a drag reduction. Apparently for EasyJet, they may be getting up to 2% drag reduction on their airplanes for almost no weight gain using this paint.
