So, using lasers to fuse deuterium over a pusher plate/bell nozzle,which is lined with uranium to heat up from neutron capture, which heats coolant, which runs to a turbogenerator, which powers the laser. So sorta pulse like, sorta orion-lite? It's not your typical fusion-fission hybrid setup. The implication is that this could be used as a nuclear jet engine the atmosphere (ejector ramjet entrainment maybe)?!?

Seems like a tiltrotor version of NASA's GL-10 electric distributed propulsion UAV prototype. The feathering prop trick is interesting, as it effectively creates a dual mode propulsion system, but the nature of beast means you have small disc rotor area with high disc loading in VTOL.

Interesting lightweight approach to a jerking kite style wind power generator. The inflatable wing spar technique should in theory be applicable to flying wind turbine kites too, in theory anyways. Using a jerking system keeps the generator components on the ground, and uses a lighter tether, but nothing is really stopping them from using a carousel type spinning generator on the ground for continuous power output, provided they had multiple kites.

Looks like a semi-hot cycle helicopter, but instead of a potentially more complicated tip jet drive, it appears to use dual contra rotating direct drive turbines to spin the rotors, exhausting into the inter-disk area of the rotor hub. That exhaust choice is a bit odd though, but it might increase local air velocity over the blades.

Interesting new hose for probe&drogue aerial refueling systems, which allows power and data transfer at the drogue end unit via a clamping device, as well as telemetry of the end unit, which would be helpful for positioning. An interesting possibility is data transfer from surveillance as their current data collection is starting to exceed reasonable radio transmission capabilities. So, instead of waiting until a UAV returns to the ground to offload data, a UAV could offload data to a command tanker aircraft in theater.

Thing is, the tech path for this leads to a similar family of engines, like the J58 that powers the SR-71 (two path engine with outer duct not behind a compressor and used as a ramjet), and SERJ (technically a two path where you have part of the compressor flow go to a combustor and turbine segment, while the rest flows to a ramjet combustor only). Probably the basic difference between ADVENT and SERJ is a lack of subsonic ramjet combustor and an air bleed path.

Advance Turbine Design - Developer of micro gas turbine engines
Apparently involved with the affordable weapons system (AWS) program, to develop a Tomahawk cruise missile analog using as much COTS hardware as possible, which apparently achieved a workable device with similar range (but 20% of the payload) of a Tomahawk. These guys developed the microturbine for AWS, called the SWB-100, a 100 lbs class small form factor centrifugal single stage compressor gas turbine. Apparently they are now trying to rig up a quad rig of these to use as a personal jetpack, seeking some funding on Kickstarter. Single SWB-100 is 100 Lbs thrust at 11.5lbs weight for 9.7:1 thrust ratio, burning 130lbs/hr of jet A, which compares reasonably to a Williams WR19 that powered the old Bell personal jetpack, which is 60 lbs, 430 lbs thrust (7:1), burning 300 lbs/hr jet A.
