Services for LGBT young people will just disappear | Kirstie Brewer | Society | The Guardian
Cuts to council youth budgets are putting vital specialist provision for vulnerable youngsters in jeopardy [...] “Youth provision has always been the Cinderella service and LGBT youth provision is its poor relation,” [...] Overall, youth services directly provided by councils in England have been cut by 36% since 2011 – from £877m to £561m total expenditure, according to figures provided by Kate Green, shadow minister for women and equalities. “Councils are facing impossible decisions about youth services as the government slashes their revenue support grants by over 50%, regardless of the cost to individuals and communities,” //&! The Trans Movement Needs a New, Science Based Strategy | Brynn Tannehill
Tuesday's defeat of HERO highlights several conclusions that the LGBT movement needs to take to heart for the next decade or so. Foremost is that we will not win transgender issues directly at the ballot box, or in the gerrymandered republican legislatures which dominate the political landscape. [...] When opponents frame legal protections for transgender people as a choice between a group strangers (who are suspected of being perverts anyway) and the safety your wives and daughters, transgender people will lose every time. So far, anti-LGBT forces have been far more successful at pushing their narrative. I don't foresee this changing anytime soon. [...] Convincing large numbers of people driven by fear and religious beliefs simply will not happen. &! bit.ly/1MgrDKK &! https://redd.it/3rxwmd &! slate.me/1Op7eck

Talk-Show: Maischberger-Talk empört Schwule und Lesben - DIE WELT
// &! http://www.welt.de/kultur/article124823003/Warum-Homophobie-unchristlich-ist.html

BBC News - Numbers of the year 2014
This is the amount that the UK's Office for National Statistics (ONS) estimated that prostitution contributed to the economy in 2012, following a decision by the EU that prostitution and illegal drugs should be counted as part of a country's Gross Domestic Product. The ONS estimates that: about 61,000 people work in prostitution in the UK the average cost per visit is about £67 each prostitute sees about 23 clients per week, working 52 weeks a year - in total about 1,200. Multiply those figures up and you get £5.7bn (which is $8.9bn, or 7.3bn euros).

BBC News - New law on sale of sex 'could cut human trafficking'
[ making new law criminalising also joe is another top down approach. will not help!!! change has to happen bottom up supported by policy makers. ] [...] The move has been supported by Anne McIlveen, co-ordinator of the Salt and Light charity in Glasgow which provides food, clothing and support and prayer to the women on the streets of the city. She said the current law, which criminalises the sale of sex, but does not address those who purchase it, fails to help women to exit prostitution. "A lot of these girls are in it because they've got addictions, they're living in poverty and it's the only way they can see to feed habits or to get drink or to pay the electric bill."

Sexualkunde-Reform in Niedersachsen: Schüler wettern gegen Abgeordnete - SPIEGEL ONLINE
+ ! youtu.be/MwXODqOy9Ic
