Could this be George Osborne's last Budget?
In any case, the Out campaign has begun to look as much like an internal Tory party putsch as a principled fight for sovereignty and a better economic future. Those who always mistrusted Cameron and Osborne, regarding them as closet Blairites rather than the true heirs to Thatcher, sense their time has come. By the summer, the Tory high command could look completely different. [...] [Budget2016] more of an exercise in pre-election showmanship than the traditional post-election downer of renewed fiscal discipline and supposedly desirable economic reform. [still] For Osborne, the goal of a balanced budget by the end of the parliament must remain sacrosanct. [...] Don’t risk our economic recovery, will be his underlying message [...] for Cameron and Osborne, this is once more a fight for political survival. //&! ind.pn/21mctLh &! bit.ly/1QJWpjD - If Britain votes against Brexit and the economy stays strong he may yet be the next Prime Minister //&! bit.ly/1Rb24m1

Hitachi boss issues warning over Wylfa subsidy deal - BBC News
[ giving extortionate (for consumer) strike prices, while cutting renewable feed in tariff 95% and 500m subsidies for Oil/Aberdeen ] The head of the company behind a new £8bn nuclear power station on Anglesey has warned it may walk away from the project if a subsidy deal with the UK government cannot be reached. Hitachi chairman Hiroaki Nakanishi told the Telegraph he voiced concerns about Wylfa Newydd's expected cost to Foreign Secretary Philip Hammond. It followed problems a rival faced for the Hinkley Point plant in Somerset. The UK government said it wants low-cost nuclear power. Hitachi owns Horizon Nuclear Power which is behind the plans to build the new power plant, which could be operational by the early 2020s. Horizon is in talks with the Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC) on issues such as the strike price, which will be key to attracting additional finance.

Cheryl James Deepcut death: New sexual exploitation claims - BBC News
"The inquest will now be a matter for the coroner, but we will of course continue to cooperate with and provide support to the coroner where needed." Lawyers from human rights campaign group Liberty have asked the coroner, Brian Barker QC, to allow the new witnesses to give evidence and he is expected to make a decision on Monday. Des James's solicitor Emma Norton said: "We have made an application to the coroner to investigate evidence that has come to light that appears to suggest there might have been a system of ordering recruits to have sex with other staff. "We have had a witness come forward to say Cheryl herself disclosed to him that she had been ordered to have sex with another soldier. [...] Pte James, from Llangollen, was one of four soldiers who died at the barracks between 1995 and 2002 amid claims of bullying and abuse.

The Guardian view on fair play in politics: a Conservative coup | Editorial | Opinion | The Guardian
From trade union reform to parliamentary process, the Tories show a pattern of contempt for the protocols of democracy [...] Thanks to a crafty, albeit constitutionally permitted, parliamentary manoeuvre, a cut that will affect hundreds of thousands of disadvantaged young people went through without proper debate or vote on the floor of the Commons. David Cameron commands a slender majority, but it is enough to pass most of his legislative programme in a more transparent fashion. Only the most controversial elements risk obstruction, either through rebellion on the Tory benches in the lower house or rejection in the upper one. [...] That episode, like the vote on student grants, is consistent with a pattern displayed by this government of impatience with democratic norms, verging on contempt. One habit is bundling measures of primary importance up in secondary legislation. [...] lay the foundations for a long-term Conservative monopoly on government.

Andy Burnham's identified the right problem - but his solution falls short
[House of Lords is] simply Yes-Men and Women picked by the parties for their loyalty. [ Latest example is Michelle Mone (rumored to be) picked by Conservatives, because she was publicly backing the 'NO, thanks' campaign in the Scottish Referendum. ] [...] It's positive that Lords reform is back on the agenda. But we shouldn't just tinker around the edges with unworkable and complicated plans like Mr Burnham's latest announcement. We need real reform in the upper house. We need a fully-elected second chamber - only then can we get real democracy in our politics.

DSK and Dodo the Pimp: Sex and power in France - Newsnight - YouTube
complicit and impunity - see same in UK with abuse scandals and paedophiles up and down Britain's Society and especially Westminster - and Met Police looking away during recent history till back then during Thatcher's time and maybe even way back even more. What a picture of society and what it means in a persons life to have "power." And also include the Church! Sure, back then paedophiles, rapists and abusers of any kind often got away with it more or less because of the stigma as victim (you brought this on you) and the lack (non existent) of prosecution and support. Dark ages. Dark ages. That is recent history. Just one generation. Thinking about it is abhorring - that these people still shape our life's to some extent.

bbc.in/16gO6IR - Rotherham Council's cabinet is to resign in the wake of a damning report which found it was "not fit for purpose" after a child abuse scandal. Louise Casey's report found a culture of bullying, sexism, suppression and misplaced "political correctness". << bc majority of men were of foreign background and culture. behaviour widespread across UK among (young and old) communities of immigrant background (post-british empire/ww2). &! bit.ly/1EOMZgK - In December of last year, Scotland Yard was handed a dossier by MPs containing the names of 22 high profile figures, including three current MPs and three members of the House of Lords, who it alleged were involved in a Westminster paedophile ring that operated in locations throughout the country in the 1970s and 80s. &! bit.ly/1EVDwWk &! youtu.be/BAY46NW7EDo &! bbc.in/1KICwFI
