Services for LGBT young people will just disappear | Kirstie Brewer | Society | The Guardian
Cuts to council youth budgets are putting vital specialist provision for vulnerable youngsters in jeopardy [...] “Youth provision has always been the Cinderella service and LGBT youth provision is its poor relation,” [...] Overall, youth services directly provided by councils in England have been cut by 36% since 2011 – from £877m to £561m total expenditure, according to figures provided by Kate Green, shadow minister for women and equalities. “Councils are facing impossible decisions about youth services as the government slashes their revenue support grants by over 50%, regardless of the cost to individuals and communities,” //&! Out in the cold: LGBT housing services devastated by austerity cuts. Homelessness among gay, lesbian and transgender people is rising but the few organisations that offer help are struggling to survive - bit.ly/1R6FIyh

Thomas Piketty on Capitalism, Corbyn and why Zuckerberg is getting it wrong - BBC Newsnight - YouTube
home ownership in UK is biggest item of UK's household wealth. 2/3rd of housing is owned. other 3rd is rented. that is why the property bubble/prices have to be kept afloat. otherwise balance sheet recession > deleveraging > debt servitude > lower consumption rate > cratering UK economy as ~70% of UK economy is based on consumption. // blaming others (ISIS) for radicalization. but who put them in this place to be radicalized, in the first place? inequality, youth unemployment. // COP21, western world do not face their historical obligation! // world wealth and income database - www.wid.world

[...] Ungleichheit zwischen den sozialen Gruppen verstärkt.

Mike Ueberroth - Mobile Uploads
Malala Yousafzai & Kylie Jenner. Both turned 18 recently. One was given a Ferrari and spent thousands on facial modification. The other was awarded a Nobel Peace Prize, survived a gun shot to the face by the Taliban due to corruption in her country, and opened a school for Syrian refugees to combat the lack of education for youth around the world. What's upsetting is the media is only covering one of these stories as "breaking news." Share the post to spread real love and inspiration across the youth of the world. Last thing to note, Malala is infinitely more beautiful! **re-posted // hard things are hard for a reason! // what happens to the cognitive surplus what everyone talked about at the turn of the century? its being eaten by consumption pattern - on the mobile homescreen (Entertainment, utility, Gaming, Escapeism, snacking).

What is the 'gig' economy? | FT Comment - YouTube
human capital, HR - as cost center. // trading short-term competitiveness (kick ppl of the book according to demand) but trade it in aggregate with long-term social deprivation and skill gaps and underinvestment. because of dog eat dog mentality than you are incentivised to compete on price, because it is the easiest and you are able to to it with those neoliberal labour reforms in Europe. Don't compete with Amazon on price. Don't compete with China/Asia on price. Stupid.

Obese people and drug users who refuse treatment could have benefits cut | Society | The Guardian
A nanny state for those that cost the state (directly, and now), because it fits their message 'only work pays'! what a double standard. what a intellectual dishonesty and cynicism. And again putting it like it is a 'lifestyle choice' being addicted and or obese. That one chose consciously, in order not to 'work.' // if people work, and are overweight, have diabetes, obese, high blood pressure, take statins, runing their liver long-term with alcohol abuse (functioning alcoholic, drug user) etc etc - costing the NHS especially long-term (sick population) - it is ok, but if they don't work. it's not ok. // after all, substance abuse, in majority of cases has a mental health (history) & social environment (nurture) component to it. Much complexity to it. And cutting services to actually help & prevent people going down the route of abuse doesn't help. Cutting A, putting it back in B. // &! bit.ly/1JACXDU - UK proposals to strip obese claimants of benefits 'flawed and unethical'
