Cleaning products linked to poorer lung function - BBC News
They said cleaning chemicals were "unnecessary" and microfiber cloths and water were "enough for most purposes".

UK experts said people should keep their homes well ventilated and use liquid cleaners instead of sprays.

The team looked at data from the European Community Respiratory Health Survey.

Previous studies have looked at the short-term effect of cleaning chemicals on asthma, but this work looked at the longer term.

Prof Cecile Svanes, who led the Bergen team, said: "We feared that such chemicals, by steadily causing a little damage to the airways day after day, year after year, might accelerate the rate of lung function decline that occurs with age."

Warning: your festive meal could be more damaging than a long-haul flight | George Monbiot | Opinion | The Guardian
http://www.theguardian.com/environment/meat-industry - A kilogramme of beef protein reared on a British hill farm can generate the equivalent of 643kg of carbon dioxide. A kilogramme of lamb protein produced in the same place can generate 749kg. One kilo of protein from either source, in other words, causes more greenhouse gas emissions than a passenger flying from London to New York. //&! http://www.theguardian.com/environment/2015/jun/23/eat-less-red-meat-and-cycle-more-for-your-and-the-planets-health // [...] I’m not suggesting that you eat no meat or other animal products. I am suggesting that we should all eat far less. Save the splurge for Christmas. And even then, choose carefully. [ Reductarian ]

GMO in Fodder aka animal feed, livestock feed. and Fodder also can contain ground up meat waste from other animals (see “mad cow” disease instance). farmed fish eating ground up male chicken. Or in EU pig fodder (Schweinefutter) containing too high toxin called dioxin ( http://www.who.int/mediacentre/factsheets/fs225/en/ ). Or in other instance added hormones to fatten pigs quicker that show up in the meat and are thus hormones that people ingest unkowingly, low-dose long-time, ... // in a commercialised profit driven environment, nothing is wasted. NOTHING. If the consumer doesn't eat the ground up food waste, then its processed and added to Fodder. // Do you really know what you are eating?

The Chemical in Cupcake Wrappers and Cookware Might Be Causing Cancer | Mother Jones
C8 is in a chemical family called PFCs (perfluorinated chemicals)—the same water- and stain-proofing class of chemicals used to make rain gear, pizza box and popcorn bag liners, stainproof upholstery treatments, and those waxy slips that hold pastries at cafes. Dozens of studies have linked PFCs to all sorts of health problems, from kidney and testicular cancer to increased risk of miscarriages. (3M phased out the chemical from production in 2002 due to potential health hazards.) [...] PFC contamination may not be isolated to the Ohio Valley. According to an Environmental Working Group (EWG) report that uses recent EPA data, C8 has been found in the drinking water in 94 counties serving more than 6 million Americans. (An interactive version of this map is available here.) [...] The EPA is in the process of investigating C8's health effects; in the meantime, it has set voluntary C8 safety standards to be used by utility companies. [...] avoid nonstick, stainproof, or waterproof items

Volkswagen Congress Hearing: Emissions scandal - watch live - YouTube
VW USA subsidiary CEO Michael Horn. // 'VW the people's car.' 36:40 - I had no understanding what a defeat device is & that it could be installed to cheat emission tests. [<< Symptom of being a conglomerate! Corporate Culture & Values.] min 38:09 - Is hardware, software & even has to do something with the fuel tank. In some models (gen 2) its just software & a sensor. // 49:20 - framing of the answer with EPA (influenced?), cars on the road right now, even they are not passing emissions test, "are legal & safe to drive for the owners." // min 57 NOx, air pollution. 'compensation will be part of discussion'. 40 times than allowable limit. // 1:11:00 - according to him, @ the current state of investigations, this was out of the engine-drivetrain-engineering/software/emissions department within VW. Was not a corporate executive decision from the top. [My 2 cents: more likely decision was made within those departments due to pressure from top to make the test pass happen. << 1:51:00]

drinking water quality - Pregnancy-induced Hypertension “Probably linked” to PFOa Contamination
Perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA) is a long-chain perfluorinated chemical (LCPFC) that does not occur naturally in the environment.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Perfluorooctanoic_acid

http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3279461/pdf/ehp.120-a59.pdf

PFOA can be released into the environment during the manufacture of products such as Teflon nonstick coating. The chemical is present in an estimated 98% of Americans, with average blood serum levels of 5.2 ng/mL reported in the 1999−2000 National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey. For people living in the 6 affected Ohio and West Virginia public water districts surrounding DuPont’s Washington Works plant, serum PFOA levels averaged 32.91 ng/ mL. PFOA had leached into groundwater and contaminated the Ohio River, tainting drinking water supplies.

animal studies have linked PFOA to tumor formation, neonatal death, impaired thyroid, and lipid abnormalities, few studies have evaluated human health effects.

Hauptsache haltbar - videos.arte.tv
BPA disrupts immune system, weakens immune system, makes it dysfunctional ... test in rats has shown.
BPA disrupts the hormonal system, starts already in embryonic stage ... leading to infertility in men (ie).

Food Industry does not acknowledging health risks. Independent studies have shown risk in rats.

Food packaged in cans, cartons and plastic full of BPA and other chemicals that permeate into the food and endanger human health long-term.
