The Inter UI font family

Inter UI is a typeface specially designed for user interfaces with focus on high legibility of small-to-medium sized text on computer screens.

The family features a tall x-height to aid in readability of mixed-case and lower-case text. Several OpenType features are provided as well, like contextual alternates that adjusts punctuation depending on the shape of surrounding glyphs, slashed zero for when you need to disambiguate "0" from "o", tabular numbers, etc.

One File, Many Options: Using Variable Fonts on the Web
There’s more than various weights to consider. CSS3 introduced the font-stretch property, with values from ultra-condensed to ultra-expanded. Until now, these values only worked if you provided a separate file for each width. If you wanted every combination of weight and width in both normal and italic, you would need dozens of files. With variable fonts, we can get all this variety with a single file.
