LooseLeaf - The world’s notebook for socially curated online learning resources.
Can the internet be a platform for sustainable self learning? That’s the fundamental questions that drives so much of what we do at LooseLeaf. LooseLeaf is a social learning platform for lifelong learners and people looking to enrich and upgrade their lives through knowledge.

Blade of Grass Fellowship
A Blade of Grass (ABOG) offers one-year fellowships for individual artists and collectives. Fellowships pair project support of $20,000 with strategic support, assessment tools, video documentation, and other tailored resources for socially engaged artists working nationwide. We support seven to ten artists or collectives per year, who are selected via an open application process.

We provide resources to artists who demonstrate artistic excellence and serve as innovative conduits for social change. We evaluate the quality of work in this evolving field by fostering an inclusive, practical discourse about the aesthetics, function, ethics and meaning of socially engaged art that resonates within and outside the contemporary art dialogue.

Q&A with Brian Solis on “What’s the Future of Business?” - SociallyStacked - Everything Social for Small Businesses and Agencies
Unlike a traditional business book, the pages of “What’s the Future of Business?” are visually rich, making the reading experience fun. And despite the heavy emphasis on design, like Solis’ other books, the lessons and valuable insights are no doubt there. Information on the aspects of business today your company should be most aware of to how consumerism has evolved and what your business needs to do to stay ahead are discussed.

On Glass & Mud: A Critique of (Bad) Design Fiction
Readers of this blog will know that I am a huge fan of design-based futures work (a.k.a. “design fiction“). Videos, in particular, can be an extremely effective way to engage people in complex, subtle and nuanced explorations of the future. I always applaud companies that give it a shot, especially when it represents a big step away from “business as usual” for them. That is why it is too bad that a lot of corporate design fiction suffers from the commercial equivalent of Asperger’s Syndrome. Take the enormously popular “A Day Made of Glass“.  This slick, high-gloss, promotional video from glass manufacturer Corning received over 17 million views on YouTube and garnered widespread media coverage.  So much so, in fact, that Corning made a second one, soon to be released at its own stylish launch party somewhere in New York.  Marketing Daily called it, “the most watched corporate video of all time.”
