How to Listen to Donald Trump Every Day for Years - The New York Times
We have to stop thinking that what President Trump says has any deeper significance [...] One major concern: His barking style lends itself to expressing casual hatred too easily. Also, Mr. Obama had much less room to be “authentic.” Mr. Trump has the privilege of talking as he pleases with no concern for how he sounds. He can string his impressions together as they come, while a black politician who sounds too “street” gets only so far. (Hillary Clinton, too, was boxed in, by gender. If she had used traits associated with the casual speech of women she would have been branded as trivial.) // language and bar for black presidents much higher -

'He's already let America down': the reaction to Trump's first speech as president | Opinion | The Guardian
The man does not seem capable of being magnanimous. [...] And the biggest lie of all when the narcissist proclaimed, “I will never let you down.”

He already has.

Centrists - Over promised and under delivered. thus feeling of no representation etc. and feeling of betrayal [...] can't discount the economics of the last decades. [...] Brexit is illuminating. [...] 1% look down on "make america great again" as nostalgia [...] see themselves better than the rest. [...] disdain [...] [...] Republicans (Establishment) could not break out of and from the past. Could not make advances against Donald Trump. [...]

Inside Story - What's the future of the UK in the wake of Brexit? - YouTube
Felt left behind! proxy protest vote. Dog whistle racism/xenophobia. World of post-fact politics and post-fact campaigning! Still a protest vote vs the elite and establishment always promised Disneyland. Reclaiming democracy at home, from bureaucracy, unelected officials, unaccountable ones, in Brussels. Young voters; 3 in 10 voted. Scewed the result somewhat. This is a warning to mainstream parties around the western world. Politics is being hollowed out, voters go to either extremes as alternative!

May be for western people it's hard to believe how can it be possible to support this crazy regime. I can tell you that even top managers from leading russian internet company (from my private conversation with them) dreamed about great russian firewall because in that case, they won't have competitors like Google. Furthermore even IT guys like Putin regime and don't get worry about crazy laws passed against the internet. I assure you in that because many of my colleagues really like Stalin and really like what's happening in Ukraine. Almost all people in Russia really hate western world. They don't care about currency exchange rates and inflation, they care only about imperialism. When Putin made desision about Crimea, and when people totally supported it, I stopped believe in Russia at all. Russia is a pure soviet country, with pure 100% soviet mindset, vast majority of russian people like idea of self-isolation. This is why Russia has no future as a liberal market-driven country.
