@marcoarment re: Apple pushing Services with iPhone.

If you buy an iPhone today in a store, the genius will FORCE Apple Music onto you - hard sell, 50M songs, free for 6 months so there’s really no reason not to, etc

I fully expect same with +. Free, hard sell

I’d love this, Touch ID was amazing. I always had my phone unlocked as it was coming out of my pocket.
Though it’d be harder to use without the physical home button to locate by touch. https://t.co/dvfC4UI0uz

Apple Music now has a better iPad layout as a beta web app than a native iPad app 😬 pic.twitter.com/Q6s5eLo1qH

Good luck! That sounds like... a lot of effort.

I switched to Comet because Super Cache actually *slowed down* a site I was building at the time. YMMV.

Comet gives a visual notification each time it resets a cached element (post edits, etc) and has manual cache clear override

The web-based Music app is seriously impressive. I wouldn’t be surprised if this replaces iTunes for Windows later this fall.

I guess? Caching and not putting (old) updated posts into the feed are the only major issues I can think of. Overall, it’s worked great for me for many years.

Thanks. Currently using WP Super Cache and a cron job using “rm” because the cache doesn’t always update when posting, and WP-Cron didn’t seem to be sufficient to do the cache maintenance. If I run into further issues, I’ll try Comet.

It's crazy isn't it? I recommend Comet Cache. It just works.

The cron issue was fixed (I think) by putting the relevant commands in a shell script and invoking that via cron, instead of having DreamHost’s cron run them directly. (It says it supports 1000-character scripts, but ones that weren’t super short just weren’t executing.)

I don’t really understand why WordPress caching doesn’t do the right thing out of the box.

Sorry for the recent days where RSS and Twitter updates were delayed by several hours. I think I’ve finally got cron working properly so that the RSS feed doesn’t lag behind the posts that are on the site, but please let me know if you find otherwise.

Apple Music's web app, to me, suggests that Apple's days making native software for Windows are over

It’s interesting to look at this and ask “why”. This stuff is hard but not impossible, especially when you have Apple level resources. It’s critical, and they keep failing at it.
