The only exception is that users _love_ you finding a solution in a highly constrained space. If it's the difference between finding a schedule that fits and not finding one at all, go crazy, but absent nearly impossible constraints, predictability always beats efficiency.

One of the first betas for OmniPlan used simulated annealing for heuristically searching for shorter schedules. Users _hated_ it. They want waterfalls of tasks, they want to understand what the program is doing, they don't _actually_ want a few percent shorter project schedules. https://t.co/aVJRheZrcO

Syncing photos to iOS devices via iTunes in iOS 12. https://t.co/AgmMMKrkj5. Still supported, but obviously deprecated. Live Photos lose effect. Issues with Slo-Mo and Time-Lapse videos. My iPad stuck on "waiting for items to copy".

I've also commented on how the mutual trust in that demo room gave context to the harsh language. Perhaps this is too subtle an idea for social media. No, it isn't unconditionally OK to swear and act like a jerk. But I need to move on to other work now. Thanks Twitterverse.

Of the feedback on my WSJ article, some has been thoughtful. Thanks. Much has been negative, expressed vaguely, with harsh language, or both. Ironic. I've been thinking about how I could have told this story differently or better. This reaction reinforces the point of my article.

We noticed bad results for low light people photography. Previously you got some low light grain, now you get blobby smooth hallucinations. So if you shoot low light people, it might be worth doing a real life comparison first.

Today I got around 10 random FaceTime disconnects while both ends were behind a solid internet line as well as a lot of audio problems. (iPad Pro 12’’ iOS 12 to iPad Pro iOS 12). #CustomerDissat

How much is your data worth? So much that Google just paid Apple $9 billion to be the default search engine in the iPhone.

$9 billion, to get people to use a ’FREE’ search.

I filed one as well (https://t.co/nkcgCE6pGZ). I could maybe buy it if it was an official app, but allowing a random app to show up there is o_O

I don’t like this. Feels like Apple is profiting off selling our searches (data).@tim_cook please consider negotiating for more privacy, less tracking, less ads, or similar – instead of $9 billions. https://t.co/So3fMHhef0
