You know how I fixed my WordPress image upload problem? Used @marsedit of course.

Is there anything @danielpunkass can’t do?

Doctor loses access to medical reference app after it changed to a subscription model: https://t.co/M8OYxm5FaS

1. App Store doesn't allow disabling of updates on a per-app basis. Play Store does.

2. Stores should allow downloading of older app versions but don't.

Here's how bad the Mac App Store is designed:

Every app released today is labeled as released "23h ago", despite this being very inaccurate. Why?

It's currently 2019-10-31T23:40:00Z, ~23 hours after this date started at 2019-10-31T00:00:00Z.

Think of the programming hilarity. pic.twitter.com/8GjXOL6OCn

iOS 13 feels like I’m back on iOS 3. Keeps dropping apps out of ram in the background at nearly the pace of 1:1 apps launched-to-quit. Makes drilling down to content or links and then losing them is rage inducing. What a crap ass behavior.

My external monitor is either:
a) attempting (& failing) to throw an exploit
or
b) the well-known macOS bug of "let's kernel panic when going to sleep connected to an external monitor" is stilllllll not fixed" (Catalina 10.15.1) 😭

Just reply to them saying this didn’t change in the current build and hasn’t been a problem before - I’ve had this exact situation before whereby a non-issue becomes one in a completely irrelevant subsequent review, but they’ll *usually* listen to reason

I love how you have to click “Release Date” TWICE on the download page, and it shows Xcode 3.2 by default. pic.twitter.com/401pvEmamg

Question: Can you figure out if "Add your comment..." is free or part of our @pdfviewerapp Pro subscription?

The Apple Reviewer argues it's not clearly marked as a paid feature. I'm gonna call it a day. (We passed about 60 builds across iOS and macOS before it became an issue) pic.twitter.com/Vtrhs2qdyp

The Dictionary.Values collection also supports this, and it may come handy if you need to distinguish between existing and new keys:

if let i = sets.index(forKey: key) {
sets.values[i].insert(foo)
} else {
fatalError(“Unknown key \(key)”)
}

Sticking with iPhone, but sure as hell not getting any more iPads. So yeah, shitty iTunes software lost those possible sales.

Yep, Array & Dictionary both support in-place mutations. For Dictionary, the recommended way is to use the defaulting subscript. E.g., this won’t make a CoW copy:

sets[key, default: Set()].insert(foo)

But this will:

var tmp = sets[key]
tmp.insert(foo)
sets[key] = tmp

Serious question: Why would they? If there's no negative impact on revenue, why spend time fixing things as opposed to adding new marketable features? Would / did you consider moving away from some Apple devices as a result of software quality? Genuinely curious on both counts. https://t.co/av8YXh69YJ

The more I play with AirPods Pro the more I am convinced Apple is moving toward computational audio experiences including better hearing.

Next up will be computational vision.

Hands down, and it's amazing how long that has been true. Michael's reporting is always, always fair, reliable, thorough, and timely. Huge trust and appreciation from me.

If an app plugin created after June 1st, 2019 is ever going to be quarantined* on Catalina, it needs to be notarized, or else users must approve it in the Security & Privacy prefpane.

*Occurs when downloading from the internet, transferring via AirDrop, iMessage, et cetera.

Even thought I’m a macOS developer, when I’m on vacation and don’t need to do development, I travel with a Windows laptop, because my Mac laptops are kind of awful.

Awful to the point where I’ve considered installing macOS in a VM on said laptop.

This tweet sounds like hyperbole but...

Both my home and work Touch Bar MacBook Pro creak very loudly as they heat and cool. I have heard Apple is fixing this with top case replacements.

I use two MacBook Pros and both have serious hardware issues in addition to the keyboard. https://t.co/js3yJG6dUU
