Related: is there a way for users to opt out of Universal Links for a single app? Either via system settings or something developers can do in app. https://t.co/P8L0QORrfJ

Dear customer,

Please don’t listen to music via AirPlay while my app is trying to validate a receipt.

Yours sincerely https://t.co/e5zxhGEcn3

Did iOS disable the Universal Link "forward" (top right) feature? Where if you open an app via Universal Link, it can take you to Safari (and disable that UL). pic.twitter.com/5uZvJqO8IQ

The key ABI bits are relatively few, things like the View protocol. It's easy to evolve protocols by adding new requirements and mapping to existing requirements through default implementations. If there are totally new components, those can still compose with old ones

"In our opinion, leaving developer just four (4!) days over a weekend with a public release on October the 7th is not very professional."

Apple seems like they're at a transition point where a lot of new API is being added (as in API created in the last few years.) From the outside it looks much more testable, hopefully they're using it as a chance to do more automation. Easier than making existing API testable.

I should add something about automation and Apple: Automation also requires careful planning and possibly refactoring. That doesn't change that automation seems necessary, but you also can't just make people write lots of automation without revisiting core issues.

Apple has been providing its Notary Service since June 2018.

This morning, it went from Performance issues to later finally admitting an outright Outage.

And here we developers sit… waiting… waiting…

For Apple.

I thought this was against the App Store rules? It doesn’t allow you to do anything in the app unless you allow access to location. pic.twitter.com/olab7a4tCz
