I wish on 1x displays that Mojave would let you counteract the less clear text by upping the scaled resolution a bit, like Windows. I.E. let me display at 1080p on a 1440p display to get a bit more Retina-y.

Actors and CSP are duals, in a sense—actors make processes first-class and the communication network secondary, whereas CSP makes the channels first-class and contexts are anonymous. Can be seen somewhat akin to "objects vs closures"

A lot of people have encountered practical problems with Go's model, e.g.: https://t.co/gCPviKXlhk

I keep hoping someday someone will write the definitive explainer on the relationship between Go-style CSP and an async/await or actor-like system.

Could you build each with the other? Should you? What does one model give that the other does not?

Go hits the concurrency nail right on the head: https://t.co/TldG8MctbW

“Go is the mainstream language that gets concurrency really right by relying on two key principles:
1. Seamless light-weight preemptive concurrency across cores
2. CSP and sharing by communicating“

I’ve transitioned the platform tech so many times in 50+ years (mainframes, minis, Apple II, MSDOS C, PenPoint, Windows, VB, Java, Perl, JavaScript, iOS, AlphaAnywhere, and who knows what else). Clearly more to come. But always building tools for others.

Re-reading the “Apple Talks Future Mac Pro with a bunch of Journalists” transcript after a year… you see a lot of clearly blind areas in their (then) current thinking. This doesn’t fill me with confidence. https://t.co/XeynsRKObW

1. Nothing’s stopping an API from offering “complication windows” where a third-party face could designate certain zones in the standard sizes for complications.

2. Complications are not a requirement for everyone, or for every face. Many of Apple’s own faces don’t support any. https://t.co/9zhljMSiVg

It's bananas that we ended up here instead of the easy path. 1) Shipping the Apple TV with a cable hookup 2) Doing an YouTube TV service instead of continually low-balling content providers in a sad attempt to apply the 30% tax.

So something like this to make the new tab and make it current:

tell application "Safari"
tell front window
set _old_tab to current tab
set _new_tab to make new tab at after _old_tab
set current tab to _new_tab
end tell
end tell

Looking at the Pixel 3 phones, Slate, and Home Hub today (hands-on press thing in NYC), best I can tell, Product Sans seems to signify “this is Google’s”.

Roboto: Android
Product Sans: Google

But it makes for a mishmash IMO.
