Echo: crappy sound, zillions of “skills” nobody uses
Google Home: a probe for your private info
Cortana speaker: a mystery
HomePod: brilliant sound. privacy and security. Airplay 2. Siri still dumb but scaled down to do the handful of things people really do on Echo.

Finally movement on my app. Got rejected for 2 reasonable things and 1 🤦‍♂️ thing.

Apparently, the cost of my app after a free trial period isn’t explicit enough.

Agreed. I've managed to export my Apple Music library to Google Play Music using STAMP, and am about to cancel Apple Music. After you experience ad-free YouTube on every device, you simply can't go back. https://t.co/rcQ7bmRFEt

Speaking of Apple Music, I find it utterly hilarious that you can't take screenshots of it. I'm guessing Apple doesn't want people sharing how buggy it is 😄 pic.twitter.com/AofSuoPJb7

Mac App Store lies: it tells me that Underpass 1.1.0 was released 18h ago, and that I can open it. It doesn’t offer me the 1.1.0 update, and I still have 1.0.5 installed.
Maybe some time it will get round to offering me the update and telling the truth?

Is there a way to fix this?
Is there a way I can just give Automator all the permissions to do anything? pic.twitter.com/bg97nT7b4y

😆 I feel like the notion of a “full stack developer” has perpetuated a view that everything is made from JavaScript, HTML, and CSS. What’s so difficult?🙄

This requires so much ignorance of the OSI model, OS design, computer history, etc! I’m Flabbergasted.

Usually not a fan of Hickey, but spec looks amazing, and he's spot on about Maybe typically being in the wrong place in the type-system. Objects/Values aren't maybe, references are. (Of course, I'd make the references 1st-class, but hey).https://t.co/f4BCdqQOUZ

Presumably, Mojave improved the situation from that of High Sierra by optimizing code under the lock and/or moving some processing out of the locked area, but the global lock itself remains

I could scarcely believe this story of a single global lock in APFS (you'd think they would have avoided reproducing this kind of well-known limitation of HFS+), but it's real, DTrace confirms it in my testing: https://t.co/48f470O3Bx https://t.co/QX6ZO6P5b5
