I think I've finally come up with a good heuristic to detect if Screen Recording permissions are enabled in Catalina.

This was a lot fricken' harder than it should have been:https://t.co/iZR9DZiOAC

I would like to disable the following Web API:

IndexedDB
Service Workers
Web Storage

Why can't I do that?

We once again proved that if Twitter is great for starting a beef, podcasting is so much better at digesting it. My conversation with @dteare about the $200m in VC for 1pw is going to be out on December 3rd. Thanks Dave ✌️ https://t.co/Dup5vcW5Yj

This is quite an impressive list of discontinued Google products. I wonder what a similar list for Apple would look like. Mostly apps and services, wouldn’t make sense to list every single hardware product, but maybe major categories (e.g. the iPod).https://t.co/Ao6tlsMKya

Two days in with AirPodsPro and... my Bose qc35 is more convenient, here’s why:

- Bose pairing is bliss - I can connect and listen to two devices simultaneously
- it won't stop playing when I adjust one ear
- Bose won’t try to connect to a random device that lays around

Apple repairs are not profitable. At least I’m pretty darned sure they weren’t when I was there. AppleCare (the organization) would be happy to just break even.

Apple should stop being denial about the recent nose-dive in quality. They're normalizing low quality that way. Bad role model for their developer community. https://t.co/NJP7mSCGET

UITextField’s intrinsicContentSize increases by 1 point when there’s text in it vs none. This is driving me nuts.

Debating whether to install iOS 13. From a user perspective I wouldn't touch it with a 10 foot pole. But from a developer perspective it's becoming problematic to avoid.

I wish I could partition an iPhone into multiple bootable volumes.

"Cloud Print, Google’s cloud-based printing solution that has been in beta since 2010, will no longer be supported as of December 31, 2020"

It’s been an incredible journey! 💀💎

Here's @backlon's review of the 16-inch MacBook Pro, which I've also been using for a week or so now. It's a very good laptop with incredible speakers, but mostly it just feels like Apple reset things, instead of pushing anything too far forward. https://t.co/yGkybFI1gP

@mjtsai Piggybacking what you said on the blog: it's over for @apple in EDU. They lost. My son's high school uses Chromebooks and Google Classroom almost exclusively. His middle school did the same.

The last time he used an iPad was around 5th grade in elementary school.

I think the worst in those stories is that if you purchase an Apple Care, you are actually getting a poor service with unskilled workers at a premium price.

I guess I don’t really see the future of the Mac being VR (which I personally expect to stay very niche) or AR (which even iOS devices are sort of just the testbed for, until Apple can perfect AR glasses)

Some people suggest a "Tick–tock model" for Apple OS releases, but this is a bad analogy.

New Intel chips are entirely backward compatible. I don't have to revise or recompile my software for i9, or whatever the latest chip is.

Every major OS release is a major testing burden.

The app should work offline, and if you have already downloaded a video while online, that video should be available offline. If that’s not working, please let us know at https://t.co/6NNqQvyGpJ so we can investigate further! Thanks!

An old saying from the making of physical products seems apropos: you can’t inspect quality into a product.
