Jony Ive is spinning some revisionist history in this new interview (https://t.co/OaTnCOke6R) One of the earliest iPad ads said “there’s no right way or wrong way.” Plus the Apple logo still clearly denotes which way is “up.” https://t.co/tscoKcqjlw pic.twitter.com/RizJh0wMEl

I think this is a cultural change that starts at the top with Satya. My boss rescheduled her meetings to accommodate our East Coast requirements. This includes training for managers on new culture values set by the executive leadership.

The charge of being “not a team player” because you don’t want to partake in the stupidity of overwork or exhaustion games is so toxic. Hope @migueldeicaza can help spread his team’s sentiments to the rest of Microsoft. If you work there, have you felt pressured to 40h+? https://t.co/YjodT2zIuh

Ok, I have decided to give Apple's "text replacement" feature a go and imported all my snippets into Mac's System Preferences pane. It _should_ now sync to all my device (hurray!) but seems to be doing nothing at all for now.. the wonders of iCloud sync.

Some job news (thread): After 4(!) amazing years at @wirecutter, I’m leaving for a new editorial position at Apple (Mac App Store Editor!) focused on helping Mac users discover and get more out of great Mac apps. (It’s like Mac Gems redux :) )

A sure sign of Apple’s ADHD: implement new feature so it works a lot of the time for some people, then forget about it forever. https://t.co/pLzLv1w4gN

Good guidance from @dhh. Our teams at Microsoft believe that you should give us 40 solid hours of work per week, and invest the rest in yourself, your family, your friends and your community. Hugs and love! https://t.co/hp3srxF4DH

All the people complaining of the @Flickr changes and are leaving are probably the ones that will make Flickr a better community when they leave.

Hope y’all enjoy Google Photos’ compression and watching your original/uncompressed photos disappear.

I was hoping these numbers would be a bit higher, maybe 26k+ multicore. My 2009 MacPro actually hits about 25k, though crappy single core. https://t.co/Ai9pecou1e

An NSImageView inside an NSBox is always vibrant even when using non-template images…
This is exactly the type of bugs that make developers waste time and are far too common on the Mac.
The Mac could really benefit sharing its UI frameworks with the more popular iOS.

Ive on the iPad Pro: "I think one of the most important things is that you change something not to make it different but to make it better.”

Except laptop keyboards, apparently.

Now that we spend most of our computing time on mobile devices and laptops, it always feels like a weird throwback when desktop machines shut down due to power outage or unplugging. It'd be nice if backup batteries, even small ones, were standard in desktop machines

Two worlds: iOS fans & pundits seem incredibly excited for USB-C on iPad and wish iPhone would move to it and align with the rest of the industry, yet Mac fans & pundits hate the Mac's own USB-C transition and have complained endlessly about dongles ever since 🙃
