Also, the TurboTax 2018 app caused a macOS authentication dialog to pop up for "Developer Debug Tools" and I was like... fuck no.

So I pressed Cancel and TurboTax crashed.

I've said it before but it's worth repeating: opening a San Diego office is a huge shot across the bow at Qualcomm, which will have to compete directly with Apple for talent https://t.co/NEvWJslYK3

gotta be built with iOS 12SDK, in Xcode 10, which won't generate the 32-bit side.

Who can I contact inside of apple for help: I need to upload a fix to an app currently being used by 32-bit iOS platforms users, but got broken by a third party. I have a fix, but the app store is not letting me use xcode 9 to upload it.

LOLOLOL both Intuit and E-Trade's two-factor authentication are worthless. Intuit allowed me to reset my password without involving 2FA, and E-Trade allowed me to download information for my taxes via TurboTax without entering the security code.

And we can put a prefix on the classes in the non-standard library to distinguish them from standard library types… Hmm, what would be a good prefix to indicate *N*on *S*tandard?

“Date” is ridiculously overloaded in vernacular, and doesn’t consistently map to a single concept, like it does in programming.

As such, we try to use “Date” (in code) for things that it’s not designed to do, because we’re mixing up what it *actually* is w/ what we *think* it is

Facebook should fire most of its Growth team. The growth war is over, they've converted everyone with a phone outside of China. Every seriously sketchy thing that's come out was due to them (rather than ads). Time to leash the dog, and worry about the users they have.

Except we've seen Apple's products decline in quality since its implementation – e.g. iOS 10+ keyboard with inaccurate autocorrect, random capitalisation

Google is using it selectively where it makes sense, while also maintaining user profiles for personalisation where necessary

7) The "Secure Data Storage" section is a massive shot across Tim Cook's bow. Expect to hear a lot about iCLoud and China every time Cook is sanctimonious.

In other news, Zuck has clearly given up on entering China, as these changes makes that impossible. Good. pic.twitter.com/xvkdS4kN3b

It was fun to get back in the saddle and update "Take Control of Preview" with @jcenters for Mojave. Preview is still a great app that I use every day, though Apple introduced some bugs we warn about in the book. https://t.co/eYGa3fsfuA pic.twitter.com/TEgyU14FpM
