Mass markets are generally not a good opportunity for small businesses. A few may hit it big and reach a huge audience, but mostly they don't, and can't. And that's fine, as long as they can charge enough money to support themselves with a smaller customer base.

This is why price is so essential for indie developers. They simply can't afford to market to a billion people worldwide. Usually the only viable way for them to sell their product is to market to a smaller number of possible customers and charge more for the product.

It's claimed that iOS is a good platform for developers because there are a billion possible customers.

But this claim is a misunderstanding of business.

Possible customers only because actual customers after you market to them. And who can afford to market to a billion people?

It has, and I’m really worried this is the death knell for viable (high priced) Mac software, because bring over iOS apps and you bring over iOS pricing.

Spotify's podcast strategy:
· Gimlet Media as the Marvel to Spotify’s Disney
· Getting creators on board using Anchor's podcast creation tools

Apple's content strategy:
· Invest resources into Hollywood – a domain they have zero experience in
· Released their dead-end Clips app

Marzipan = iOS apps running on a Mac. It’s going to mean low quality Mac apps. It’s definitely not going to mean great Mac apps come to the iPad.https://t.co/L4EHJ1laWM

“The music Spotify feeds to you through our discovery engine through our machine learning is pretty darn good. Well, guess what? That team is now working on podcasts.”

Apple should've been doing this. Instead, Podcasts works exactly the same as it did when it was part of iTunes. https://t.co/WAdsKaFFL1

These ranges are amazing: between 10 and 23 million Apple Watches sold, and something like 6 million AirPods, I guess?

Non designers don't know how hard logo design is. For example, here's the grid used for the USA Today logo. #CaseStudy #LogoDesign pic.twitter.com/T9rZGAAY69

I know dunking on considered, rational composition gets all the likes these days, but this is quite an elegant lockup. Type sits on a baseline at the 45 degree tangents of the globe, which I see as designer(s) caring about their craft (essential in such a simple mark). pic.twitter.com/o6VBW1yuK4

Spectre went from $1.99 → $2.99 and probably ~doubled their revenue.

Went from Top Grossing #1,000 to #500. That kinda stings, should have been $2.99 all along probably. pic.twitter.com/IOrJbGivaD

LRT: often under-leveling doesn’t even look like not valuing accomplishments; it can look like not assigning high visibility/prestige (often high risk) projects to someone because they’re “too important for keeping the day to day stuff working”

It may be a minor thing, but for what it’s worth, your post says that “the bug was introduced in macOS 10.13.4,” while Oakley’s post says that “this bug has existed since macOS High Sierra 10.13.4, almost a year ago, in March 2018, if not before.”

So perhaps 10.13.4 at latest?

I'm not sure how much I'm getting until I get it, but they mentioned a manual adjustment of $50 "as a courtesy blanket amount to help offset any funds you are currently unable to disburse".

It's all very confusing. I didn't want to say you could get $ from them until I got some.
