I'm still baffled and frustrated by this. The app's description is entirely hidden behind the "more" of the promotional text. And why is what's new featured so prominently in the storefront??? You tell them what's new, but viewers don't even know what the hell the app is!!! https://t.co/AisXaodHT9

I get that regular magazine readers are accustomed to just leafing through the whole rag. But from a digital standpoint, being able to save for later seems like common sense.

Apple News+ Magazines doesn't seem to use FairPlay (😐), and preloads the first few pages of PDF-based issues regardless of whether you have a subscription (🤦‍♂️). Thus, you can just rip them out of the cache on macOS and reconstitute the original PDF. Kinda irresponsible pic.twitter.com/FudLFjngZe

Exactly this. I also find the assumption that this will be better than the freemium crapfest unconvincing, since the payment model of this service will cause developers to optimize for maximum screen time instead of good gameplay.

I had deleted all these apps prior to 12.whatever. I guess Apple wanted me to reconsider? Can I have that option when people delete my apps? pic.twitter.com/8YNkVKgpRb

Apple TV Channels makes sense, and is what the TV App should've been from the start, like I wrote 2 years ago.

But nobody – not Apple pundits, nor Apple critics – has managed to explain why Apple is distracting themselves with original content. https://t.co/u8EhePJHtZ

"Apple will be handling the streams and promises top-tier picture and audio quality for all Apple TV Channels it offers."

If iTunes Rental streaming and Apple Music streaming performance are anything to go by, this isn't as reassuring as you think, Apple. https://t.co/lDrWP4iXQ4

Updating apps from one place and deleting them from another, not being able to link a listing in the 'updates' tab to the location of the relevant icon... it feels like the App Store and Springboard are made by two totally different companies that aren't on speaking terms.

Does it not bother anyone else that, if they wanted to, Apple could just pull every news app from the App Store after this announcement?

Second lie we've seen from Apple recently is their remark about Apple Card having "lower interest rates" than the majority of the industry.

“Variable APRs range from 13.24% to 24.24% based on creditworthiness. Rates as of March 2019.”

No different from anyone else.

This is literally a competition to come up with the most addictive Skinner Box (Operant Conditioning Chamber) within whatever opaque rules Apple sets. If one thing has a chance of ruining Tim Cook’s claim that Apple’s greatest contribution to mankind will be in health this is it.

Trashcan Mac Pro, HomePod, upcoming Mac Pro, iMac Pro, Apple Monitor, AirPods, AirPower. This is the new normal, today was completely in line with how Apple has announced products under Cook. Only difference is I don't think a lot of people want any of this.

Wow, so I see that Apple has announced a whole raft of Apple-specific ways for me to pay for stuff I already pay for: news, games, credit card services, entertainment. Since I don't have an Apple tattoo, nor do I blog about how I've been iPad-only since 2009, why should I care?
