Documentation can be one of the most impactful things in a project. I credit the kaleidoscope tutorial with a huge increase in adoption of LLVM over the years. It also drove a bunch of critical api improvements like IRBuilder.

> it's file change monitoring is disruptive

Its malicious, fake system dialog which attempts to steal your user account password so it can keep itself enabled in accessibility settings is also disruptive, among other things.

Obvious way around - multiple accounts and then share folders.

I haven’t. I presume it will take effect later this month…

Makes total sense. (I had the same issue, but also switched to iCloud Keychain at the same time. It was a lovely and focused three months of simplifying all my tech use that has paid off well.)

I made the jump from Dropbox to iCloud Drive this year and it’s been really nice. If you really want to rid your Mac of the app itself, Transmit from @panic does a really nice job of logging into Dropbox for any shared folders you still need to access.

I like Transmit, but in this case I want to be able to have 1Password access my Dropbox shared folders.

My WWDC invite prediction: the cross-platform library formally known as “Marzipan” will be named “Neon”.

AppleScript counts combining character sequences, not grapheme clusters, for precisely this reason. Treating CRLF as a single “character” broke too much existing code. (Don’t know the difference between the two? See https://t.co/NU2IZUV3Rt, table 1b!)

I think you’re right. I keep wanting it to be useful for stuff like this, but I guess it’s more for sort of merging objects than adjusting the responder chain.

Interesting idea. Have you looked at using -supplementalTargetForAction:sender:, or is it not a good fit?

Swift tip: you can include file/line/function information in your custom error types. This makes the definition of new error cases a little wordier, but crucially, the callsite remains very clean. pic.twitter.com/FB93nCtWWY

I don't, personally, think that there is or was any new UI framework on the horizon, declarative or otherwise. I *can* see Interface Builder adopt a declarative Swift-based 'code-behind' for your interfaces. But no new UI

There really are only two questions left for Marzipan that matter:

• Is this the future of Mac apps?
• Will you be able to interleave AppKit and UIKit views & code in a single, hybrid app?

The answer to the second Q will determine the motion vector of the answer to the first

Interesting… WWDC is $200 more expensive this year.

Also, from the image, I clearly see the introduction of Dark Mode for iOS (its dark) and the return of Obj-C (the square brackets). pic.twitter.com/hRizolYyo5
