So if Microsoft gets Github, how confident will Apple and Google be continuing using it. I guess they had private repos before they made them public.

You prob don't want one of your competitor to access that.

I want to note that I said community. There was actually no requirement to move from Obj-C, just a bunch of people getting carried away and pre-emptively optimizing for a scenario that never existed.

Also a cautionary tweet before WWDC, even though I think it will be quiet

I wonder how much non native apps were self inflicted by the native app community. If I was a CTO and my devs told me we had to throw out our stable Obj-C, rewrite in Swift, repeat every year, and the compiler was immature and slow, then RN might sound like a dream come true.

I think Microsoft will be a good steward of GitHub. Definitely trust them with it more than any of the other big tech titans. Everybody relies on GitHub, so now everybody relies on Microsoft services. Just what they wanted?

This is why the iOS Facebook app has 18,000 classes, and why Facebook had to hack the Android class loader to even get their app to launch with so many classes… https://t.co/wE0i7uYD0n

Here’s a really interesting comment about how the flutter dev team handled hot-reloading of code at dev-time when working with compiled languageshttps://t.co/zaM7jefmZ2 pic.twitter.com/0IHMMh6Evd

Did you find the store link (old one no longer works)? I only found the link to download it.

Should you add note that there is no family sharing? (The trial version is severely limited btw)

No website should be able to subvert the functionality of a browser. Eg subverting browser password management as below, opening new tabs/windows, overriding the back button, etc. https://t.co/VS6uO085R6

Quitting Family Sharing - David Sparks in 2015. https://t.co/0S7uIZQJqe. I waited until 2018 to try Family Sharing -- but I'm also thinking of backing out. Subscriptions, in-app purchases, iTunes Match are 3 big problems.

What if the only change they made was to have backups not count toward your storage limit?

I feel like that would be enough to fix the situation. And I expect that would be plenty for most users, especially since they increased the minimum storage size on the lowest cost iPhones

It is, but not for these reasons. Open tabs should never be evicted from memory, and a download manager is far overdue. Agreed, personally I never want to see a 'mobile' web page on an iPad, and I really do want to see cursor/trackpad support on iPad https://t.co/n3Bg7nwfIO

The thing about iCloud storage tiers is that as soon as you treat a gigabyte as a user-facing concern, you’ve basically already lost. In a perfect world, nobody should have to think about file sizes.

what I've heard is that 'Marzipan' is more a 'single binary' thing than a shared framework. iOS and macOS slices in same bundle, shared App Store? Guess we'll find out
