Are master/detail editable views a problem in SwiftUI right now? If you have an array of structs, and a detail view that edits one of the structs, there's no way to commit the edit to the master array it seems like.

How do I file a Radar for Apple’s dictation engine autocorrupting my child’s name to “the Phaniel”?

Also, what the heck is a Phaniel?

OMG tccutil in Catalina actually accepts the bundle ID it has claimed to accept for years:

% tccutil reset AppleEvents com.red-sweater.fastscripts

successfully reset AppleEvents approval status for com.red-sweater.fastscripts

I‘m not convinced Swift&UI is a good idea but it definitely seems to be a very well defined framework built specifically for the language, rather than building a Frankenstein on an entirely different programming idea (proper OO).
Swift people like it because it is Swift native.

Bindings in AppKit are *way* older, EOF had associations in (correct me) ~1994.

Not sure I like how SwiftUI leaks into the Modal layer with BindableObject. Although I suppose there are ways that conformance could be introduced from the outside, if your objects provide Combine support.

This. I have so many clients and dev friends who think that SE support isn’t important anymore. Think again. https://t.co/DQT5bV6nwF

But I don’t want the same resolution, I want the SE w/ a fullscreen display, aka the iPhone seX.

Also, what is with these nerds that love package managers, and their fantasy that Apple will pick an open-source project to support? Look at Xquartz or OpenDarwin to see how that works out in the long run.

I saw this via @mjtsai's blog entry, which I follow with morbid curiosity. Anyone who's ever tried to share Python between Mac/Linux and Windows should understand the problems that are coming. "Oh, my ArcGIS Python is clobbering the path. How do I install/use a different one?" https://t.co/WNdRDNX40R

Trivia: Playdate isn't Panic's first try at hardware. Back in 2003 (!) we thought it'd be cool if computer keyboards were backlit by RGB LEDs. We built a prototype, but the LEDs were too expensive and we gave up. This video is all we have left. If only this idea had caught on! 😅 pic.twitter.com/CTQ5XVH2Hs

If your SwiftUI adoption strategy is “Wait two years until most of my users have upgraded to iOS 13 and later”, you are setting yourself up for disruption.
You’ll have to gradually adopt soon, or you won’t be able to keep up later.

iOS 13 adds a lovely set of built-in themed colors that automatically update for day/night, accessibility, etc, so I'm considering ditching our built-color picker altogether, no longer making toolbars customizable at all and limiting tone colors to just that palette. pic.twitter.com/9fZCIxXspH
