If you have ever installed Zoom on your Mac (even if you later uninstalled it) there is a localhost web server running on your machine to make reinstallation easier. But there are some problems with how it is done.

You might want to read this.

Loading up Music in Xcode's view hierarchy debugger is kinda fascinating. All of its layout and controls are AppKit, but all of its views (including scroll views) and text are rendered in code in ITDrawingHostViews. I bet it's not a fun project for the accessibility team pic.twitter.com/uBVQ66ansu

I like the iWork apps a lot, but I thought they lost a lot of functionality when they unified on the iOS codebase a few years ago? Or are they back to being better than before?

Dear @WordPress, why can't we change usernames without hacks, so our users aren't painfully confronted with their deadnames or former-spouse surnames every time they log in?

Stuck in loop? Hung?

I think it’s problematic to use the same term for two very different situations:

- The only monetarily viable solution is to buy another device

- You need to reinstall the OS and maybe loose some data.

“Malformed iMessage Could Send iPhone into a Boot Loop” is how I would have put it.

Music is 'a real Mac app', remember? It's one of Apple's most recent 'real Mac apps'. Pretending it's an outlier because it's a bad app is disingenuous. Apple has made very few good 'real Mac apps' lately. It's a bad app for many more reasons than a screenshot of a modal dialog

NSDrawButton() is still there, and still draws a chunky-assed NeXT-style button. pic.twitter.com/YIPfVe6vpt

I see what you’re saying, but, lacking an alternative, I think this is close enough that the term is warranted. It’s way more serious than the common ailments people talk about.

Saying ‘A miserable showcase for “Why you’d want to use AppKit in 2019”’ and then showing a modal dialog which plausibly could have been coded in 1998 is disingenuous. iTunes is shit when compared to modern apps. It has nothing to do with AppKit, and you know it.

3. They submitted it last year but it was held up by app-review limbo.

4. The build was stuck “Processing” for a year. https://t.co/Q3TCc5UF3s

I’d like to do that, but I don’t think WordPress supports that sort of thing directly. Maybe someday I can write some code to generate the RSS directly. Thanks for reading.

A modal dialog isn’t dependent on the SDK you’re using. That’s just bad architecture and UIKit can’t help with that, so the dig on AppKit is pointless.

I’m willing to be Music / iTunes architecture is legacy from having to support so much for so long, back to the SoundJam days.

Is there a term for this sort of situation that’s in between what people normally call bricking and a “regular” stuck phone that can be fixed by hard rebooting?

I still dread opening the Music app as much as I did iTunes. It may have a new name, but it brought all of iTunes' baggage with it. A miserable showcase for 'why you'd want to use AppKit in 2019'. Guess I'm still just gonna use iOS for music. Podcasts on the other hand is great! pic.twitter.com/jNw2NdfG2t
