I don't care why Apple is listening to my audio and I don't care that it's happening in a "secure facility." I do not want my audio recordings to be listened to by human beings or retained for further study. Disclose this better and let me opt out.https://t.co/EP5tGCVSG7 https://t.co/8m5cy3TiwT

As it stands today, for garbage collection to beat manual memory management you either need to be very bad at manual memory management or living in a pure Newtonian world with ideal surfaces that exhibit zero friction towards movement.

For me at least, this does not correlate to traffic at all. Monthly page views went up steadily until the day Google pulled the plug on Google Reader in 2013, dropped significantly that day, and have been uncannily steady ever since.

I have been hearing this literally since I started learning to program, and to this day top-quality titles either use manual memory management or go to great lengths to make automatic work for them (like Playdead).

It's the Cold Fusion of game development. https://t.co/vfDZMf82d7

Instead of getting rid of that default, they added an obnoxious new "feature" to Safari where you can't download anything unless you click yet another confirmation dialog. WTF.

To this day, even in Catalina, the Safari preference Open "safe" files after downloading is still enabled by default.

This is by far the biggest security hole in macOS, it would be easy to plug, but Apple refuses.

Don't say a word about Mac security until that changes.

I was just noticing this same thing. Time Machine is so slow for me now that I'll often have to cancel a "Preparing Backup…" which has taken all darn day.

You know what else is magically fast? Carbon Copy Cloner. Apple's Time Machine had grown so slow, I went back to CCC after a decade of absence. I can't believe how quick it is. It's pure backup delight. Thank you @bombichsoftware!

1Password 7 will work with Safari 13, 1Password 6 will not. You can absolutely continue to use the license you purchased, but 1Password 6 will not work with Safari 13. Other browsers are available. Learn more here: https://t.co/9Ai6YYzQ9K

Who thinks this is great UX?
1) Use an app the first time to create a screenshot
2) Denied, give permission
3) Quit App
4) Find app
5) Relaunch
6) Create a screenshot again

This sucks. By the time they get to #2, they’ll have forgotten what they wanted to do in the first place. https://t.co/WxLBR05YoI
