For anyone out there who thinks "I'll never get that job at Google". Just letting you know that at Google in 2019, people still reply all to company wide email threads.

Writing is just a small part of it. Good screenshots are a crucial skill. Knowing how to make video is increasingly important. RESEARCH. Don't talk out your ass. Be prepared to back up everything you write or readers will rake you over the coals.

The biggest asset you can bring to the table is being reliable. The freelance world is full of flakes. A mediocre writer will stand out by doing what they say and being consistently available and easy to work with.

Since @Jonathan_Blow was talking about how bad modern software is, I thought it might be a good time to re-post this video of how fast CygnusEd (a text editor) was on the Amiga _thirty years ago_:https://t.co/U4TLHM2H5f

A) Should an app make "esc" and "return" discoverable (hold command and see them in the list), or leave them just working-but-not-listed. Maps, for example, just lets you smash escape to close the current pannel.

B) Should closing a modal window be escape or command + W?

Man, I did not realize how poor the keyboard support is for most of the apps iOS comes with. At least I have a low bar to leap over.

2,200 employees going from Intel to Apple. Also, 2,200 people working on modems!?! Just incredible. (Is THIS why Apple quietly opened a hardware shop out near Intel?) https://t.co/9kIlC3ogqO

With Google fumbling Stadia out of the gate, Apple Arcade looks like a great deal in comparison. I don't think indie games are a good fit on touch devices and really worry about how this will effect the future of indie game development.

If Apple actively promotes apps that only offer SiwA, it will create radical growth for privacy conscious apps and services. If your app uses SiwA as its only login method, your app states its intention as a product focused on providing users a tool, unconcerned with user data.

I think how Sign in with Apple is being implemented is illegal and so egregious an abuse of their monopoly that Apple should be outright banned from offering the service, but that’s not going to happen so…

I think this is going to be the next App Store windfall for developers…

When I see an Apple Music link anywhere, I’d love to have an iOS extension or Mac service or extension to add it to my queue in Music.

(1) it's not only my work
(2) yeah the bandwidth for communication is a tough problem, it's hard to condense the year of work of several engineers in a 45min WWDC session.

Time machine to Synology over SMB is a ticking time bomb, once the sparse bundle hits a certain size it fails (which some users might not hit hence the ambiguity out there). The solution is to use AFP which does support large backups.

Were you possibly impacted by the Equifax data breach?

This link will let you:

- Check if your personal data was exposed
- If it was, file claim (all clicks and typing, pretty easy)

You get $125 or 4 years of free credit monitoring. Worth it, IMO. 👍🏻https://t.co/BFaSxKxjJ6
