I wonder why for developer tools you couldn’t have container support native in the Mac where developer tools can live and not need to be approved all of the time

I think it's really lousy of Twitter to respond to a universally panned redesign by wheeling out the designers and trying to guilt-trip users. But what else can we expect from Twitter?

Stealth color profile conversion changes in the latest OS updates.

10.14.5: has behavior “A”
10.15 b4: changes to behavior “B”
10.14.6: changes to behavior “B” as well.

Those kind of changes don’t usually happen backwards like this.

Yes, that is supposed to be inferred access. Through the betas, inference is getting much, much better.

I think the first time I encountered it was opening an Xcode project from the desktop. Understandable if wanting to access the desktop directly without any user input, but seems a tad overkill for those cases where I explicitly tell an app “open something in ~/Desktop/Foo/“

One fun thing Xcode could do instead of throwing a compiler error for invalid characters in source files is DRAW THEM or NOT LET US TYPE THEM IN THE FIRST PLACE.

Apple’s docs still recommend using a disk image, and there’s no way to avoid translocation if you’re using an archive. As I describe at the link, there are up to 4 different levels of signing. Self-signing your app is at #1 whereas translocation is at #3, so they are orthogonal.

Pairing isn’t a “go fast” strategy, it’s a “waste less” strategy that ends up going faster if there’s enough uncertainty
Fixed problems with fixed solutions don’t require pairing, they require automation (and automation is rich in uncertainty)https://t.co/N7cdebAoBb by @KentBeck

When did Xcode add the /*@START_MENU_TOKEN@*/placeholder/*@END_MENU_TOKEN@*/ syntax? I never saw it before Xcode 11's SwiftUI template, but I find that it works in Xcode 10.2.1 also.
