Moving (finally) off @ATT and this is so difficult I am just telling them I am moving out of the country *permanently* ("Oh...really...never coming back?") so I can move this process along after being on hold for 25 minutes.

- It takes an average of three days for fact-checkers to flag a story as false. By which point posts will have already gotten the majority of their lifetime views. So how effectively is FB really reducing the spread of misinformation there?

@panic Any update on the sandboxing changes for the Mac App Store? I just had an app rejected and am debating whether to wait for the changes or to go to a direct-sale version (would rather do App Store for this one).

(New App Store is not a Marzipan app, but if this is the direction Apple wants to go with AppKit apps, bleh.)

New App Store has Marzipan patterns and they just feel weird to me. Navigation controllers and in window modal sessions. The navigation controllers feel least weird. But the in window models just leave me feeling like things are in the wrong place with a Done button.

Preliminary results from our 4K Premiere test:
2017 2.9GHz Core i7: 90 min
2018 Core i9 before patch: 80 min
2018 Core i9 after patch: 72 min
Also, very even clocks at or above base instead of spiky throttling. pic.twitter.com/4CtgJ72pRt

I‘m closing the CD series with that beauty. It is unfortunate how much we lost when NeXT was rescued by Apple (and reverse), but we did get a lot in return, eg iPhone and iPad.
ObjC would have been dead many years ago and we would be forced to work in Java or C++. Ups #SwiftLang pic.twitter.com/9GvdmsrN9s

I did a lot of work with it during the betas. There was a broader vision, and IIRC parts of it were cut. I think in the end Apple lost interest in anything beyond what they needed for Safari RSS.

Yeah, PubSub never seemed complete enough to do any of the things I wanted to do with it.

I’m not aware of an alternative that has as much server support. So if a client doesn’t support Fever API, many people simply won’t be able o use it.

Fever itself is gone now https://t.co/6wiAq0XNE4 and if I remember correctly from @unread_app, the API had issues with batch actions like marking 10K items read. If I was making a new RSS app today I wouldn’t use that API.

I'm not sure how many third party apps were actively using it, but Apple also yanked the PubSub framework

Plus, I want an RSS reader that feels like a Mac app. I imagine a Marzipaned one feeling like Reeder.

It’s pretty weak out there compared to iOS. This is one of the areas I hope Marzipan can have a positive impact on the Mac.
