So you’d like to free up space on your iPhone, huh? Good luck clearing out the 25GB of “other” that you really can’t clear out using any UI revealed to the user. pic.twitter.com/8b6fmAI813

TIL: Gmail now includes a “confidential mode” which is supposed to be a kind of DRM that prevents your recipient from copying/printing the email… unless, you know, they know how to use web inspector 🤔 https://t.co/m1qH8SNyyE

"While Google Assistant has been on iOS for a while, accessing it required users to go out of their way to download the app — a step not everyone would necessarily take. With this move, it’s going to be front & center in an app that millions of iOS users already use."

Clever! https://t.co/p01E0jBKB8

It's kind of shocking how well that 6-year-old iMac is holding up, especially against the Airs… If I bought a new iMac now (which I probably will, as soon as they finally update them) it would probably completely crush everything else in this ranking 😬

The timescale for processing app licences depends on how many you purchase:

5,000 licences or less are processed straightaway.
5,001 to 19,999 licences are processed after 13:00 PST daily.
20,000 licences or more are processed after 16:00 PST daily.

FullContact does a good job. It’s a subscription service, but it’s got a good iOS, Mac, and web app.

So, this is awkward… but I returned that new MacBook Air I was so excited about (yup, after 2 months, trololo 😃). I love the shape, the CPU isn’t bad, but the screen is so much worse than Pro’s. I’d say it isn’t even strictly better than old Air’s… 😐 (I got a 13” Pro instead) pic.twitter.com/SwWWgpnm1Y

If it's important: print it out, scan it back in.

I wouldn't trust *any* PDF editing software if it's really that important. Not even my own.

Are there any decent iOS apps out there for backing up/ merging/ de-duplicating contacts? There seem to be 1000s of apps that claim to do this, but they all seem like terrible, potentially scammy, shovelware apps slapped together then abandoned 5+ years ago.

Here’s the rule. “Content and features within you app” is the crux. Drawing the line between “but that feature happens on a server not the in the app” is very hard!

The answer is likely: judgment call. But Eero is a great example RIGHT on the line IMO. pic.twitter.com/nY2P5TJaFG

I’m not complaining, this *feels* right but I challenge you to articulate the line.

1. Eero unlocks router software, controlled by and results shown in app.

2. How’s that different from server software monitoring and predicting rain, controlled by and results shown in app?

@siracusa Just realized one of my contacts wasn't syncing via iCloud (iPad to iPhone). Couldn't figure out why. Saw the contact had a generic Yahoo icon (no idea why). Deleted icon. Immediately synced to my iPhone. Never would've thought of it if you hadn't mentioned it recently.

The Apple remote is the worst product Apple have released in their history. Next to the current laptop keyboards. Taptic isn’t its problem. Its overly sensitive touchpad that fast forwards video if it so much as rests against your leg. It’s multitude of random buttons...
