Just in case these things amuse you:
• The airport nearest to Oracle is SQL
• The airport nearest to Kleiner Perkins is PAO
• The freeway exit for Facebook is exit 404

What happens when a computer doesn’t actually get slow, wear out, get compromised, isn’t needed for new apps, and so on?

More uncharted territory for Apple—iPhone is first computer that doesn’t decay over time, works until screen breaks/battery fails.

Don’t @ me w/anecdotes.

You and I are proposing two valid solutions to the same problem: a comparable product at a lower price, or a better product at a comparable price. I don't even think those strategies are mutually exclusive.

They need insane value at the low end, insane phones at the high end.

There are two ways to look at this. The iPhone line is either too pricey or not good enough. Both of those come down to a problem with the value for the buyer's money.

I don't have a magic survey (that would be very nice, though), but the reason people aren't buying the XR is because of its price. Apple's own heavy promotions are probably the clearest evidence apart from Wednesday's results.

The thing that actually got me to switch off of iTunes billing for Netflix: I couldn’t use a Netflix gift card, because they didn’t have any way to conditionally or partially bill through the subscription.

If to solve apple’s “problem” one suggests a one or two dimensional solution (price point, screen size) to an n-dimensional system then they need to do more work.

Cannibalizing yourself sounds super cool until you actually do it and watch billions of dollars per qtr evaporate.

Received from @Amazon: There are now more than 100 million Alexa enabled endpoints (non-mobile) across Echo, Fire TV, Fire Tablet and Alexa-enabled products. That's pretty huge. @JenniferWise @jmcquivey pic.twitter.com/BLwRWASuUV

Really glad to hear iOS developers saying "don't judge Marzipan poorly just because some Marzipan apps suck", and I'm excited for what this means for the community's opinion of Electron.

So displaying a digital certificate is considered a “VPN” app. Looks like if you are China, you can’t use SSL Detective on iOS.

Good news is that there is a new version up on the iOS app store.https://t.co/Ie8YuMVfS3 pic.twitter.com/M3ljczq68t

"We have ~15% share in the smartphone market in China, so that means there's 85% someone else is selling. The truth is, if it's easy to switch [due to WeChat], who's going to benefit from that equation?"
