It’s quite clear they don’t want to be in the business of repairing machines. Padding the bottom line one way or another seems to be the MO these days.

They’ve already brought it in to the store and they figured out it was dead (garbage video out). The price is already a premium and throwing another $250 onto the price is ridiculous just to be able to afford to get it repaired.

Xcode 11.4 beta is buggy as shit. Completely unusable.

I deeply regret the time I spent downloading, extracting, and verifying.

Apple wants $575 to repair a 1.5 year old MacBook Air that was $1099 new. This is obscene. Why would anyone buy a machine that has a premium price and such poor repairability?

New Google Maps icon!

I hated that crusty old one, now it‘s allowed on the homescreen. pic.twitter.com/KgfTr7Auel

It is such a shame Apple has decided to never open UIKit to watchOS devs, because now, thanks to new in-process dyld mechanics, it is easier than ever to load up a UIKit UI inside your watchOS app — mere header annotations the only blocker pic.twitter.com/UMvK1Di0pH

Someday, my iPhone will trust my computer.

Today, and yesterday, and the day before that, and the day before that day, and holy shit how long has this been going on, was not the day.

I think the most anti-competitive thing Apple does is prevent shops from stocking repair parts. It prevents them from getting out to places like eBay, but puts independent repair shops at a speed disadvantage. They can’t order parts until they start the repair. https://t.co/aET1ETF3ul

Realized that iPad display mirroring will work even if the iPad is not on the same Wifi or connected via wire. With my MacBook Pro and iPad Pro it will directly connect wirelessly. Wish Xcode wireless debugging also worked without the devices being on the same Wifi network :(

iCloud Drive servers recently started reverting all 0 byte files to the last non-empty version. Not a problem for most apps, but all plain text editors now have a bug where it’s impossible to remove all content from a file.
