A little detail that I love in Messages is how it puts a little extra space between message bubbles when there’s a time gap in a conversation. I know it’s been in the app since iOS 7, but it’s one of those little enhancements that makes a big difference.

Swift developers... what's happening here?

1. The attached code has been working for years.
2. In particular `options ?? [:]` is now causing the problem.
3. Calling into JavascriptCore invokeMethod
4. Now crashes when trying convert options into JSValue pic.twitter.com/ZAPL50Oyfb

Have you ever wondered why the safeAreaInsets on the bottom of the iPhone and iPad are different? (34pt vs 20pt)

It's because the arc of the radius terminates at a different point along the vertical edge. Thank you @xscopeapp. pic.twitter.com/qjX6oucUxm

We're not sure whether 10base2 or 10baseT is going to win as the standard Ethernet medium. Let's come up with a standard "Attachment Unit Interface" so our network cards can handle anything

What? Standardize the connector for the interface? Of course not

Pretty sure I just observed my AirPods Pro + case - both with drained batteries - preferentially charge the AirPods to 100% *before* starting to charge the case. Nothing revolutionary, but it takes extra design work to do that and most don't do it.

2020: These ports all use USB-C connectors, but none of them are compatible

1990: These devices are all SCSI, but none of them use the same connector

I find a use for the Touch Bar (that isn't volume or brightness) maybe once a month, but have to kill TouchBarServer roughly once a day. Maybe they should've just stuck to keys.

I love how MacBooks these days treat you plugging in a power cable as a suggestion they’re going to think long and hard about.

And maybe, maybe in five minutes they’ll start charging.

Or maybe not.

I'm quite frankly vexed by the lack of direct integration, for a service that purports to give its users more effective control over management of their debt.

Apple Card CSV and OFX export support is helpful, but I'd prefer to see Apple develop more direct integration with financial software apps.https://t.co/AQ8dYNvEhl

Windows 10X, for the Mac folks, is like Apple, having discontinued iOS for a couple years because iPhone fizzled out, now porting macOS to iPad, replacing Finder/Dock with a new touch-first shell, and making all the native apps use Catalyst, with an emulator for legacy Mac apps pic.twitter.com/eGs1wLRUvZ

It's not documented because it's implemented by the _KeyValueCodingAndObserving protocol, and Apple doesn't document underscored APIs.

Sure would be nice if fixes like this were backported to older versions of macOS / iOS

So since Swift is now part of the OS, it’s going to be years before our lowest deployment target has this fix?

Oddly, the new observe() method doesn’t show up in Dash, either. I knew it was there, but couldn’t find it. And Xcode’s indexing was messed up, so it couldn’t show the synthesized header for it, either.
