(Note that I had to actively search for it because unlike more advanced IDEs, Xcode doesn’t suggest to use the new observe method instead of the "old" addObserver method.)

Anyway, all of this is moot because this new swift way to do KVO doesn’t even properly work with enums.

Well, with `callAsFunction`, closures can just become regular structs instead of a weird special kind of thing

. @Apple 's full size ad for News+ in the News "Mac" app. I don't want to see any News+ stuff. How do I disable this? pic.twitter.com/jwQ0UsE3GE

Xcode still can't properly link framework targets to an XCFramework and it's killing me :(

You can work around by manually specifying the framework path into the XCFramework. But this breaks Catalyst because it tries to use the Mac slice for Catalyst.

I really want to use @Spotify for discovery, but their electron app on macOS and their iOS app are just awful.

When I say "looks and feels like Catalyst". This is what I'm talking about. It's unfortunate that Apple itself set the bar rather low for the new technology UI standards. pic.twitter.com/M4TQkPCpWu

On a clean 10.15 install, drag drop from the Desktop into the simulator fails (works fine from the home dir). Anyone have a workaround? Giving the simulator Full Disk Access doesn’t help. pic.twitter.com/rB9m9aCbmq

It’s great to see this, but it sure does have its share of inexplicable Catalyst bugs. ⌘W can’t close the prefs window? pic.twitter.com/NTzgBPnIIA

Think about this: Swift Playgrounds is how Apple is teaching kids to code. Swift Playgrounds on macOS only supports UIKit and other Catalyst-ready APIs. I'll let that speak for itself pic.twitter.com/7B1gPASXLf

A GitHub user reported a bug that only happens on Windows. I tracked it down to the fact that Git handles symlinks very strangely on that platform. IMO, if the behavior has to be different on Windows vs POSIX, maybe Git should just disallow symlinks.https://t.co/M3gvUUGzQ3

Win32 apps on Windows 10X feel so much like Classic apps on early Mac OS X. The framebuffer sharing seems so odd. They even made the distinction of Win32 apps vs 'native' apps

I've said as much in a few places. I think Apple has to get a catalog and some franchise IP. Even classic HBO, which Apple TV+ clearly wants to model itself after, had a catalog of movies and TV.

This may be a controversial tweet, also just lobbing it out as a thought, but if Apple is deeply committed to being a TV/movie content provider then it is not a bad idea to buy ViacomCBS.

It would be expensive, but they would also get quality back catalog and Star Trek.
