"That was the file system follow-up that I had. And, hopefully, will be the last of it."

Pages’ EPUB 3 export still can’t be trusted with custom fonts or text shadow ☹️ I’d love for this workflow to work, but there really is nothing I can use on iOS like InDesign right now. Complex page layout with EPUB 3 FXL export pic.twitter.com/Q82IP6Z0EO

Forgot to congratulate @bbedit on the 25th anniversary. One of my all-time fav apps. Found some of my old t-shirts this week. pic.twitter.com/OCivE9yLbi

Me: "Hey Siri, play my playlist 'Top Songs of 2018'"

HomePod: "Here's CLASH's Top 40 Songs of 2018"

Rather than play a playlist of mine with that exact title, Siri decided I wanted to hear a random magazine's shared playlist.

I love how HomePod sounds, but this is garbage.

I know people want an edit button on Twitter (edit before you tweet, silly!), but my biggest demand right now is the ability to reorder my Lists view. Different clients use different, unmodifiable sorting options and it infuriates me

I do not actually think this is true anymore. Starting in iOS12 WebKit will automatically attempt a reload in case of a WebContent process crash. I remember making this change after WWDC based on the feedback I got.

Funny enough I disagree — I think Maps on the Mac would be a great place to do much more intricate mapping tasks like trip planning. There’s a huge unmet potential. (I don’t think it needs to be as nerdy as Earth, but it could certainly approach that level of utility.)

My guess is Apple will pitch Marzipan as a way to quickly port an app where user experience is less of a concern, or dip your toe into the Mac user base, with AppKit still the recommended choice for the best Mac experience.

Which will cause hand wringing I’m sure.

This happens to me too. It gets late in the day and suddenly USPS tracking says something like “delivery attempted, no answer” despite the fact that I’ve been home all day, our security camera shows no activity, and we get no mail or packages. https://t.co/uX8qWhOrA8

Exactly. And this was one of the most important apps, and the one Apple was promoting to show how good Carbon was. Replaced the old way, but still haven’t really delivered on the new way. (Plus, almost 20 years, and it’s still worse at searching by name than the classic Finder.)

Marzipan is a bit like if your kitchen accidentally got set on fire, and while you’re trying to put it out, your neighbor comes over and says “hey I saw you were trying to burn your house down so I set your living room and bathroom on fire for you.”

It’s too bad Apple ditched the spacial Finder, but it least they replaced it with a modern, performant, responsive app and really took the browser paradigm to the next level.

An Apple Music world is a world without Smart Playlists, star ratings, and metadata editing. I don't expect these things to survive post-iTunes, but we can hope https://t.co/NInx7GTyuh
