I admit, I did NOT grok what was interesting about Dropbox support in Transmit 5 until someone explained to me. And now, I explain it to you—with the NEAR-UNIVERSAL example of collaborating on a marketing campaign for cereal: https://t.co/hhMkVO85d5

Nice HW is useless w/o a reliable OS, and Apple reviewers (pro and amateur) have become way too obsessed with the shininess of the hardware, ignoring the SW.

Isn't this an A-class people hire A-class people, B-class people hire C-class people sort of thing?

Apple's concern SHOULD be not whether you have criticized them, but whether you will provide fruitful feedback about bugs and poor design choices…

While I like increased type safety, I'm not sure removal of auto-promotion for numeric types in Swift is a direction I would call "progress." Progress would be programming at a higher level of abstraction not having to think about size details in places that worked fine before.

People keep talking about “next year’s” Mac Pro… IIRC, Apple has said *nothing* about when it will be announced or released, other than that it won’t be in 2017. No reason to think it couldn’t be 2019.

I spoke with the iMac Pro team yesterday and they're keen to change this, they said. Developers is the biggest pro group for them. I did give them shit for failing to press that point and for the flubs like TouchBar. Hope they listen!

Quick thoughts on iMac Pro: New SSD is bananas fast (3GB/s r/w). All 10 cores are frequently in use during normal dev usage. Peak single-core CPU is ~same speed as top-spec normal iMac. 128GB RAM is 🤩. T2 chip does HW disk encryption 👌.

This is a fair point, but take a look at the attached pic of the current iMac.

Note the memory compartment door. Press the button below it and the door opens, you can upgrade RAM yourself.

That’s an important difference, one not found in the iMac Pro. 🖥 https://t.co/beqJzVQVB2 pic.twitter.com/RvLnIc4qfI
