Is there a way to tell everything (in macOS/iOS) to wait to update state until a VPN connection is established? As soon as I connect to a public WiFi, everything gets very excited to see a network and races to send credentials. Seems very dumb, and, moreover, seems obviously so.

If these are global numbers remember that the world is a big place and Amazon is not very global.

I find these numbers very surprising. I assumed Amazon would have a much higher share since it almost give its Fire tablets away. https://t.co/rkJP4bJMU8

I am telling you, as one of the primary targets of Gamergate? 2018 Twitter is a DRASTICALLY better platform than 2014 Twitter. Light years better.

There of been a ton of advances, from better response to death threats to counteracting bots. https://t.co/MTSweNBfr6

Congrats to Alf Watt for bringing @istumbler to the Mac App Store! As a former Apple Wi-Fi engineer, Alf worked very hard years ago to let us have a public API we all could use for Wi-Fi scanning. His tool certainly deserves a spot in the store. https://t.co/nlE6G8C1TB pic.twitter.com/459tibvd1o

The T2 is a great idea but with Apple’s current software record, it’s just another point of failure. (Re: kernel panics and other issues)

Overcast doesn't block any feed URLs from being entered manually.

But I care quite a bit if my app is promoting illegal/hate/etc. content in its search and recommendations.

(Not only is that horrible, I'd be risking removal from the App Store.) https://t.co/cAJtBnzRla

My understanding is that apps have been banned for doing this with JavaScript (even though it was originally explicitly allowed if using Apple’s JS engine) and that some games use Lua but not updated live.

One of the best things about great wireless headphones like the Sony WH1000 is that the terms of service you can’t negotiate sign you up for data collection and take away your right to sue unless you send Sony a letter in the mail within 30 days pic.twitter.com/FtL1I5bmcW

Ha, I just made a POP3 client using curl in less time than it took a “hip” coder to figure out his package manager so he could add an IMAP/POP thingy to his install.

Every time I hear a political/social pundit say "algorithm" they say it just like "magic".

Oddly, the sentences make as much sense with the substitution.

It would be really nice if these people would stop treating programming like magic. Evil magic at that.

Spoiler: It isn't
