I’ve got a Mac OS X problem that I seem unable to solve — The Finder gets stuck processing iCloud files, resulting in most files reportedly waiting for upload or download. The solution here only proved temporary.https://t.co/FFmfJ9WLYt

Think twice before conforming a standard library or Foundation type to a built-in protocol (e.g. extension Range: Codable). You risk collisions with other code that does the same thing, or if the stdlib adds the conformance later. https://t.co/mOgIRtLrSh

Guess I will have to take a look at how to implement the runtime for Swift but it's disappointing that it's not even in @awscloud radar to support Swift.

We are going to see if it's related to the Swift ABIs once Swift 5 is released.

Or switch to SMB? Although I gave up on Time Machine’s unreliability years ago. Personally run Minio in a Docker container on my NAS and Arq on Mac for LAN backups.

LLVM provides a multithreaded memory model closely aligned with the C++11 spec. Swift right now doesn’t formally have a memory model, but it’s conservative enough around C calls that primitives implemented in C like pthreads or libdispatch work correctly
