This map of World Cup stadiums shows super hi-res satellite images of all 12 Russian venues https://ift.tt/2sVVCHG Prospective https://ift.tt/2t6Q1h5 June 14, 2018 at 07:01PM

Why be a fly on the wall when you can feel like a bird in the sky?

If you’re feeling a little down about not being able to make it to Russia for the 2018 FIFA World Cup, I have the perfect thing to lift your spirits. A new interactive map from spatial analytics firm Esri gives you a surprisingly close-up aerial view of all 12 stadiums being used for the World Cup soccer matches this year. The map uses imagery from DigitalGlobe and includes meta data about each venue—like seating capacity, where it’s located, and a little bit about its history.

It’s a fun substitute for soccer fans who don’t have the opportunity to gallivant all over Russia in real life. Just click the green “Start Here” button at the lower left-hand corner of the map to begin your virtual tour of the satellite images. You can learn all about, for instance, the Ekaterinburg Arena, which was built in 1953 and is home to FC Ural, one of Russia’s oldest football clubs.

Added bonus: You get to feel like you’re spying on Russia. Not to be petty, but it’s weirdly satisfying.

Check out the map here or via the embed below.

Why Democrats Hear a Secret Racist Dog Whistle and Republicans Don't - Dilbert Blog
One of the biggest misconceptions about Trump supporters is that they see President Trump the same way his critics see him, and yet they like him anyway. The implication of that belief is that all Trump supporters are racists because they damn-well-know they support a leader who is one.

Amazon Replacing Retail Vets With Software | PYMNTS.com
Amazon is replacing some of its retail veterans with software that predicts what shoppers want and how much merchants should charge for it.
According to Bloomberg, the retail group that helped sign multimillion dollar deals with brands selling on Amazon is now being merged with the team that runs the marketplace, an automated platform that lets anyone price, market and sell their products on the site without having to interact with anyone.
In recent months, several high-ranking executives have left for other jobs or been reassigned. Despite this news, Amazon said it’s still creating jobs — as well as automation — across the company to better serve its customers.

AT&T Time Warner - Now Comes the Hard Part
Unruly talent, high costs, clashing cultures and an ambitious ad strategy await leaders of the soon-to-be telecom-media giant

Last month, comedian Samantha Bee used a vulgarity to describe Ivanka Trump on her TBS show. It was bleeped on air, but ran online, and set off a scramble inside Time Warner Inc. MMTWXMM, the network’s parent company.

Advertisers pulled out. Ms. Bee apologized. Time Warner Chief Executive Jeff Bewkes was furious. The comedian’s defenders argued that stars on sister channel HBO get to cross lines all the time, people familiar with the matter said. In the end, Ms. Bee wasn’t suspended.

Congratulations, AT&T, now all this is yours. The telecom giant this week defeated the government in a landmark antitrust case that all but secures its $80 billion takeover of Time Warner. That legal odyssey may soon seem like a breeze compared to what comes next—delivering on the promise of the deal.

With b8ta Stake, Macy's Pop-up Biz Gets A Boost | PYMNTS.com
Retail giant Macy’s is boosting its pop-up shop presence, known as Market @ Macy’s. The company is doing so by taking a minority stake in b8ta, a three year old firm that CNBC reported helps brands build out their physical store footprint. B8ta will offer up back end support for Market @ Macy’s.

That smaller tech-focused firm, reported CNBC, lets shoppers examine and interact with gadgets before purchasing them. For instance, Macy’s will branch out into offering products such as digital art canvas.

As has been reported, Macy’s has been in the midst of changing the way its retail space is used — in one example, Macy’s bought STORY, which offers a rotating theme that determines what merchandise is offered across a span of several months.
